Awful place to buy or lease a car

by Topendcarclub from Lansdale, PA | March 09, 2018Thompson BMW became my to go dealer after relocating to PA, for the last 6 years they have maintain all 3 of my cars 08 E60, 07 E70 & 14 F10 . Over the years some experiences have been better than others but overal nothing to brag about . However over the last 14 months the experiences have been a total nightmare. In February of 17 dropped off the 14 F10 for inspection and oil change a week before a FL trip. Two day to my trip and my car get rear ended by one of their employees. The car was left over night outside the car wash bay and not in a parking space as it should have. And had to fight tooth and nail with management for them to handle it , as they were suggesting to be handle as a regular traffic incident . And now they've had my 07 E70 for over 3 weeks proving no updates, no return of phone calls and after speaking with the service manager receiving treatment as if they were doing the work for free. Disrespect, offended and handled with a "we don't care for your business" attitude. Needless to say I would never use them again and will stir people away from this place. Not many options in the area for dealers but will try my luck further away and give another dealer my business.

He took the time find a solution to my dilemma that six service people, four parts people at three other BMW dealers, and two rep from the BMW Genius Center could not solve. I am grateful and would highly recommend this dealership and will look to them for help with our three BMWs.

In this particular purchase I found Thompson BMW to be a great place to deal with. Any concerns I might have had in the beginning were quickly devolved. The salesman I dealt with was exceptional [Rob RIdgway] and resolved any concerns I had quickly and efficiently. I might add that I was looking for an X5 in 5 states with a specific exterior and interior color combinations and with specific options I wanted. It was a rare combination but Thompson was the only dealer in 5 states that had it. The whole purchase process was made a piece cake by Thompsons sales, finance, and service departments. I would certainly purchase a vehicle from them again! Excellent experience!

by JayF from Nutley, NJ | September 16, 2016WORST BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER! if 0 stars was an option I surely would have picked that. I was treated as a burden not a customer! I made the mistake of contacting thompson about a used car they had on the website. As I live in NJ my Mother went down to look at it. She said it looked and drove great so it seemed like it was going to be a breeze. The sales men Steve Borghi did nothing but makes this the most difficult experience ever. He refused to take a deposit as I was not comfortable purchasing the car site unseen. His response was that's it's a certified car so nothing is wrong with it. Not to mention it had to be brought back to service less then 1 week after purchase where the car was only driven twice. After 4 phone calls he eventually was willing to take a deposit. The catch is I made this deposit on a Friday and he said I HAD to be in the next morning at opening to get the car because they would be too busy to help me any other time. After a 2 hour drive to get there at 9am there was not a single customer there from the moment I got in to the moment I left. Finally got the heck out of there and when the car had to be brought in to be serviced we made the mistake of asking what was wrong with it. The guys response was that I knocked something loose. Even though I drove the car twice... About two weeks before my temp plate expired I called to get a new one in case the plates didn't come in on time. Two phone calls and two emails later it never gets done. I get a call two days before the plates expire and I'm told I can't get a new temp plate now that the real ones are in. Originally I had asked for my mother to pick them up as she lives in the area. Unfortunately she was out of town for the weekend so I said I would have to call back after I spoke to her. Called back and he never returned my call. A couple hours later he calls back and I tell him I need them shipped as nobody is around to pick them up. I'm told "I already went to go pick them up, they are on my desk and I am done for the day. I don't know what to tell you." So now my temp plate expires tomorrow and I have no way of getting new ones. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

They treated me with respect and gave me a great deal! I recently had my first service performed and the service department matched the experience in sales. I stopped in to make a appointment and they serviced my car that day. They greeted me when I arrived and even gave me a BMW loaner car and a free car wash! The service in unbeatable!
