    Terrible Management
by Lisa from Lees Summit, MO | March 24, 2021

Want to start off by saying that the actual purchasing of our vehicle went very well and we were very pleased. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Drove off happy and two days later is when the problems began. We have had to return our vehicle to the dealership 4 times in the first 20 days of purchase. We get it back and within 3 days it is going back with same problem. I fully want to believe that the dealership didn’t know anything was wrong with the truck when they sold it to us but cannot be sure. I have tried to talk with the GM, Phil Skid, and he would not talk to me when I took the time to drive out and see if we could work something out on another truck. He would not take my calls or return my calls. My problem is with the way he runs his dealership. I believe you should stand behind your product and your employees. Phil does neither. Finally took our truck to another GM dealership for repair and have not had a problem again, the service department was night and day from what we received with Robert Brogden. I will say Allison Leach, the service advisor at Robert Brogden was GREAT!! But if you want someone who will stand behind what they sell you this is not the dealership for you! Wish I could give zero stars because that is what they deserve.

As soon as I signed I became invisible
by Tired Of Calling from Olathe KS | December 31, 2020

Dont be fooled like I was. In September immediately after purchase I rated this place at 5 stars. We had the most friendly, informative, and quick experience possible. Until we signed and left the lot. It was immediately apparent that we are no longer important to them once we sign their papers. I paid $999 for a protection/service and we were never contacted to schedule this. I called a few times in October to solve the issue, and Sebastian said he would send someone to pick our vehicle up from me at work to handle the maintenance. No one showed or called. I have since received no contact from the dealership with the exception of a call after altering my 5 star review. Jeff Alstat, our salesman, reached out within an hour of editing that review. However the call from management never came. we have waited over 3 months for this service, and when requesting a refund for lack of communication resulting in lost trust, we received no call back. I reached out to Jeff again and he said he would reach out to management and finance again. However he really cannot force those people to do anything they don't want to do. It has become abundantly clear that we were a dollar sign and nothing more in their eyes. Unless you want to spend months begging for services you paid for, avoid this place. We were so excited to find a friendly place to purchase work vehicles without hassle, and now I have little faith that this one is where we should go. Which is a huge disappointment because we need an SUV and a Truck by February. Just sad.

    The WORST customer service!
by Lisa R. from Lenexa, KS | October 07, 2020

Purchasing a vehicle from Robert Brogden was a HUGE mistake. I would never recommend this dealership. There are many options in KC. I recommend going anywhere else. Let me start from the beginning. In 2018, I purchased a 2015 Chevy Tahoe from Robert Brogden. Two weeks after my purchase and only a few hundred miles later, I started hearing front end noise and the vehicle was riding extremely rough. I took it to their service department where I was informed that the vehicle needed all four struts replaced. This repair was a few thousand dollars. I went to the dealership to speak with the person that sold me the vehicle and his manager. While in the service department, Allison, the service advisor, pulled out the vehicle inspection checklist. This checklist was used to inspect the vehicle prior to sale. On the checklist it clearly stated that the struts needed replaced. The strut repair was crossed off of the list and was obviously not completed. Allison even pointed this out to the sales man. I stated I would not be paying for this repair, as the dealership knew this was an issue when they put the vehicle out on the lot for sale. This repair was also not covered under the VSC that I purchased at the time of sale. We then proceeded to meet with the sales manager. His comment was “we will work with you on this.” My reply was “no, you knew this was an issue when you sold me the vehicle, look at the inspection sheet in your hand.” He looked shocked to say the least. He stormed off and they did end up covering the repair. I was pleased with this outcome, but had I not seen this inspection sheet, they would have made me pay for this repair knowing the struts needed replaced when they sold me the car. Fast forward to June 2020. I have paid my vehicle off. I contacted Robert Brogden to request a refund of the unused portion of my vehicle service contract. I spoke with someone who told me I needed a lien release before they could issue the refund. July 15th, I received the lien release/title. I emailed copies of the documentation to Terrie in the finance department. She told me the person that normally handles this was on sick leave, but she would get it processed. Two weeks later, on July 28th, I emailed Terrie to see if she received the documents, as I never received a reply to my email. That same day, Terrie sent me cancellation documents to sign. The next day I signed them and sent them back. On August 27th, a month after sending the documents, I emailed Terrie to follow up on the cancellation. No reply. September 1st, I emailed again. No reply. At that time I found a number on the cancellation paperwork and called the company. I spoke with Cathie. She stated that she had never received my cancellation documents and requested I send them directly to her, which I did. September 8th, I emailed Terrie again. After threatening a CFPB and Attorney General complaint she finally emailed me back with the following: “ Your cancellation was done the day you sent the request to us---I am not the person that completes the final cancellation process. That person I have forwarded your information to , however she has been out on medical leave. I cannot at this time tell you the status . I am sorry for your frustration and I totally understand. However , the process does not happen immediately--it does take about 30-45 business days. I am forwarding your concerns to our business manager and I will let you know Thursday what I have found out. I am off on Wednesdays. “ Since this email on September 8th, I have not heard from anyone at Robert Brogden. I have called multiple times. I have been transferred to voicemail after voicemail by the less than helpful receptionist who stated she couldn’t leave her desk to find someone for me to talk to directly. I did call Cathie at MBP and she stated that the VSC was cancelled, but Robert Brogden would have to cut me the check for the refund. I have never experienced such poor customer service!

by Josh from Kansas City, KS | July 06, 2020

Robert Brogden Buick GMC "Stay Away. 2 months of promises to call back and never would" My wife and I bought a new GMC Acadia from Robert Brogden Buick GMC in Olathe and I want to share our full experience. I would stay away from this dealership if you value customer service, respect, timeliness, follow up or professional courtesy. Here is the good and the ugly as I want it to be a fair review. Full review below but short version is 2 months of lack of service dept follow up on repairs needed for a brand new car. In the end, the GM refused to take my call to hear me out or resolve the issue. Full review on DealerRater.

Wrecked my vehicle while in for service!
by Jake from Olathe, KS | May 17, 2020

On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, I took my 2018 GMC 2500 HD Denali into Robert Brogden Buick/GMC in Olathe, KS for a “service emissions“ lite that had appeared. I was told by the service department that my vehicle will need to remain in the service department to diagnose further. After my vehicle had been at dealership for three days, on Friday, December 13, 2019, I received a call from the service department informing me that my vehicle had fallen off the lift and there has been significant damage to my truck. On Saturday, December 14, 2019, I went to the dealership to view and assess the damages that had been caused. The general manager of the dealership was not available due to a recent medical condition, so I spoke with Dave Hosley (Service Manager) and Phil Skid (General Sales Manager) both of whom took full responsibility of the damages while my truck was at their facility. The meeting with both individuals concluded with their idea of “making me whole again” was to repair the damages to my 1.5-year-old truck (which I purchased NEW) and give it back to me! I believe, I should be entitled to a vehicle of the same condition that I dropped off to them, NOT a damaged vehicle that will carry with it a diminished value due to the ACCIDENT THEIR DEALERSHIP CAUSED! Now, I purchased a new vehicle because I know that particular vehicle comes straight from the factory after having met and gone through rigorous testing, inspections, met safety criteria, comes with a manufacturer warranty and I can rely on while driving it for work and with my family. I am beyond frustrated with Robert Brogden Buick/GMC in Olathe, KS and their customer service in handling this particular situation. At this point, I am not sure if my manufacturer warranty is going to be avoided, or if after these repairs, will there be any additional warranty to cover repairs and what guarantees can they offer that there will NOT be any future underlying issues that could arise from the damages caused to my vehicle while in their possession that I could financially be responsible for?! To top if off, Robert Brogden Buick/GMC would NOT offer me a “courtesy vehicle” in comparison to my truck, which they damaged, so I had to personally get a rental truck from Enterprise Rental which I have been driving to this day (January 28, 2020), with STILL No acceptable resolution on behalf of the dealership to this issue. Time will tell if Robert Brogden Buick/GMC will resolve this matter acceptably. —Update as of 5/17/20, on the situation with my vehicle. Robert Brogden Buick GMC and General Motors did follow up with me AND NEITHER RESOLVED THE ISSUE! Robert Brogden Buick GMC told me they were STILL NOT going cover my rental expenses or other “loss of use” expenses I had accrued because they were going to charge me holding cost for the duration my vehicle (THAT THE DEALERSHIP DAMAGED) was on their lot. SERIOUSLY??! The General Sales Manager at Robert Brogden Buick GMC told me they went through their insurance to repair the damages on my truck. I guess that means, the dealership pockets all the insurance money and I do not receive any reimbursement for my expenses I had accrued! The answer General Motors (GM) gave me (after almost 2 months of communications) was unfortunately, because the accident happened at the dealership, it was the responsibility of the dealership. Also, that GM stands behind the decision of the dealership. I have since filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) which after several weeks, replied back to me stating, after several attempts to contact Robert Brogden Buick GMC regarding the claim, the BBB NEVER received any communications back from the dealership. I then contacted the Kansas Insurance Commissioner to inform them of the issue. They directed me to contact the Attorney General of Kansas. I did file a claim with the Attorney General and now am awaiting their response.

    Take your business elsewhere
by Kelley Thrasher from Prairie Village | January 15, 2020

Beyond disappointed with this delaership. Bought a 2014 GMC Terrain with 24,000 miles. At 85K I had to put $2,000 into it because of damage caused by a blocked PCV valve. Paid extra for the extended warranty just to be told that this issue isn't covered. Now have issues with the pistons caused by excessive oil consumption. This is a $4,000-7,500 fix. Dealership said my extended warranty was up in March and they were going to do nothing about this issue. Come to find out that GMC just lost a class action for both of these issues. The dealership did not own up to knowing anything about this. They offered $1000 for trade in. I have all the documents about the class action if anyone else is going through this same thing. Don't ever buy a GMC and especially from this dealership that do not care about their customers. They pretty much blamed me for the oil issues. I have records of every oil change I have ever recieved. I always got on well before the date or mileage. Turns out this is a well known issue with GMC. Would never recommend and would suggest you take your business elsewhere. They do not stand behind their products!
