    Ask for Larry - No pressure sales

    We were so fortunate to be paired with Larry, who took us on the best driving tour possible - filled with hills, curves, highways, back roads, and stop signs. - all around the dealership. He was curtious and respectful of the distancing needs during Covid and cleaned seats, desks, and pens when we used them to complete our deal. Larry made this easy and painless without any pressured sales pitches. When you schedule an appointment, be sure to ask for Larry.

    TRASHED MY CAR

    I had attempted to get the recall done on my 2013 Subaru BRZ back in February of 2018. I had made multiple calls to multiple dealerships to which nobody had appointment available for at least 6 to 8 months. When i had contacted Subaru corporate they recommended I take my vehicle to Ramsey New Jersey to have the recall done on the vehicle since there was an available appointment much earlier. After countless phone calls an appointment was set and the car was dropped off. After being told it would only take two days to have the vehicles recall done, it took three weeks before they had stated my car was not under warranty due to “heavy modifications” which is not the intended reason of it being there. It was also stated to Subaru of America that the intake and exhaust were replaced with manufacture approved after parts made for this vehicle, to which the Subaru of America agent agreed it would not impact the recall issue which caused the damage. I had called July 15th 2019 to see if I could pick up the vehicle since they would not honor the recall, they said it was “ready to be picked up”. Upon arrival at the Ramsey Subaru service Center to pick up my car the motor was not in the vehicles engine bay but it was disassembled and put in my vehicle, no parts were labeled or sorted it was literally tossed into the vehicle in pieces. In the photos that were taken when I had arrived you can see the cars oil, other fluids and bolts/nuts etc. all around the vehicle. Not once did anyone state that the vehicle was “ready to pick up” with the engine disassembled tossed into the car so carelessly. When someone stated it’s ready to be picked up you as a consumer would be under the impression the vehicle would be in the same if not better condition than it was left in. This known recall was the only reason we were sent in to this dealership, they refused service of the recall and ultimately trashed the interior and technically totaled my vehicle.

    Couldn't fix car the first time but blames me

    In November 2018, I brought in my wrx that I bought new for a transmission issue, as first gear randomly pops out of gear. The initial work was covered under warranty, but the problem persisted even after they said they "fixed" it. It kept occurring, even though the dealership assured me it wasn't. Brought the car back less than 7k miles later for the SAME issue they "fixed". This time I actually managed to recreate the issue right in front of the service advisor John Kane at Ramsey Subaru. Now they have to fix it right? Leave the dealership with their word they will take care of it for me. Now the next day, after they've already said they will take care of it, John called me to explain I'm likely at fault for abusing the car. He explained that this will mean if they take out the transmission and see signs of abuse the whole job will be out of pocket. Which means they could just open it up. "See the abuse", and then make me fork up over $700 just to reassemble the transmission. It seemed as if they were trying to threaten me with a huge service bill to scare me away so they won't have to honor the warranty as they suspect "abuse" on my part. Service advisor won't get back to me regarding my car which is in their possession. I have reached out to Subaru of America to hopefully resolve this situation, but it seems the dealership is avoiding them as well . Very disappointed with the service and The service advisor has gotten back to me and now claims that the car was "abused". It's very disappointing that I brought in the car for the same issue that they couldn't fix the FIRST time correctly and they try to blame me. I thought I was just dropping my car off to get fixed a transmission issue that they had "fixed" already, but now I'm being hit with a LARGE, unexpected bill. As a long time fan of Subaru, I am very disappointed by how Subaru and Ramsey Subaru treats their customers. I should've learned the first time they couldn't fix the issue. Would never recommend this place to anyone

    Great job RAMSEY Subaru!

    I highly recommend RAMSEY Subaru! Just leased a new Forester and the experience was seamless. They call it “stellar”, and I agree that it’s a perfect word and well deserved term to describe my experience! Alex was an absolute pleasure to deal with from beginning to end...patient, friendly and trustworthy. The car is beautiful and the price was great. Both the Finance and Orientation guys were also wonderful. I will undoubtedly be back when I need another Subaru! Thanks for such a stress-free and enjoyable buying experience!

    Very poor and not responsive customer service. I will not recommend them. I bought a new car from them and had many problems. I recommend Liberty Subaru instead.

    Fantastic dealership! Especially Dino,(Sales) who really worked with me to get the car I liked at a price that fit my budget. Up front and honest, an all around great experience. Chris (Delivery Coordinator) was friendly and quick to get me up to speed so I could get them most out of my car's features right away.

    The pre-owned vehicles they advertise are “not available” as soon as you look for a specific price. Sales staff is not female friendly. Unfortunately this dealership lives up to all the old negative stereotypes of the car business.

    Yesterday I had the pleasure working with Dino from Ramsey Subaru. I purchase a new forester and I have to say he made the experience that much easier.     I am very impressed with the Subaru dealership in Ramsey, NJ. The car inventory is massive. More importantly, customer service aced it for me. My salesman Dino was very professional, knowledgeable all around and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I will definitely buy my second Subaru from Dino who exceeded all my expectations and made my buying experience a smooth and pleasant one.
