    Pacific VW gives VW a bad name

    Purchased a CPO 2008 Touareg in Nov 2012. 1 week later I returned vehicle for broken headlight housing. 2 weeks later the parking brake broke, and had to wait 4 days for the part to arrive. Meanwhile, I used a screwdriver to release the parking brake. Paid for an IPOD adapter.They outsourced the job to an auto sound store where they disconnected the Sirius XM. Demanded genuine VW IPOD adapter to be installed or return vehicle to original state. Was finally told IPOD adapter could not be installed w/o disconnecting Sirius XM. Lastly, the vehicle registration arrived, removed the dealer paper plates and discovered only one license plate. Forced to return for IPOD refund, license plate, and final fix on Sirius XM. Beware!

    VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

    I purchased a used 2006 Jeep Commander from this dealership. Shortly after I bought the car, I realized the back panel to one of the rear seats was missing. When I notified the used car sales manager of the missing part, he stated that used vehicles were sold "as is" under a "buyer beware" philosophy. How 1980's is that??!! He said he'd see what he could do about getting the part. I called SEVERAL times to follow up. I was COMPLETELY avoided and none of my calls/messages were ever returned. SHADY!

    GREAT EXPERIENCE

    I had a GREAT experience here. I leased a 2013 Passat during the sign & drive special. I walked in the door at 11am and was driving off in my new car about an hour later. My salesman Joe wasn't 'slimy' like a lot of car salesmen can be. He listened to my situation and worked with me and his Sales Manager Shawn to get me a great deal. The dealership has a good vibe. Everyone is genuine, friendly, and helpful. Joe was definitely trying to get me in a car, but I felt that he was working WITH me, not that he was trying to pressure me into a bad deal (like at other dealerships). It's hard to argue with the sign & drive...I drove off the lot in a brand new (nice) Passat without having to put a dime down. Very reasonable monthly payments. And my 1st payment isn't due for 45 day. And they filled it with gas! As far as the negotiations; again I never felt pressured to take a deal I didn't want. We went back a forth a few times and settled on a price that seemed more than fair to me. The last step is going upstairs to sign the final paperwork with the Finance Manager George. I thought "OK, here's where they screw you." But George was very reassuring. He carefully explains all the paperwork before you sign it, and the deal didn't change on me at the last second like I feared. Everything went smooth. I would definitely buy another car here in the future and I'd refer anyone here.

    Awesome Experience

    So I worked with a broker since I was short on time once I decided to go forward with a new car purchase. My broker put me in touch with Nikos at Pacific Volkswagen. This was the first time I set foot onto a car dealership in 7 years and I was very happy with the whole experience from beginning to end. I live in Santa Barbara and made a trip down to LA to do a test drive. I loved the car but I needed to do a little more number crunching before I was 100% sure of my choice. Nikos let me walk away that day without all the endless haggling that happens so often at dealerships. This really sealed the deal for me and once I was comfortable with my budget I got the car. I highly recommend Nikos, don't get me wrong he is a salesman and he will try to sell you a car, but I also found that his no nonsense approach and willingness to hear out my concerns during the whole process are the qualities that I appreciated the most. I would definitely work with him in the future for any new purchases.

    The Internet department was very friendly and helpful. Also very straight shooters. Didn't make it in as they didn't have the specific car I wanted, but I would definitely recommend Pacific VW in Hawthorne.
