Good place with friendly sales staff
by Tyler from Arlington, Virginia | November 15, 2020

Great place to do business. If you see a car you are interested there, go check it out. I was contacted by Katherine C at Ourisman in response to a good quality used trade-in I inquired about . I found the experience ideal in car shopping where she was there if I had any questions and let the car just sell itself, including taking it out for a drive beyond the stop-stop-stop neighborhood in downtown Bethesda of the dealership. Her and her manager and other members of her team were pleasant and made it to where I wanted to close the sale with them, including staying a little after hours since I made the drive from VA. In my view, they are doing everything right here and in my experience, you will be in good hands.

Could have been so much better.
by AmyM from Washington, DC | November 05, 2020

    - It took over 5 hours to complete the process, which is just unacceptable given that we had done negotiation on the car monthly cost before arriving, and our test drive lasted 15 minutes. We had to wait several hours before finding out that there was additional paperwork to be filled out and we could have done it at the beginning. - All staff inside the dealership weren't wearing masks. - While we liked our sales rep, who tried very hard for us, she was new and we felt the orientation to our new Volvo was sub-par. A lot of googling and unresolved functionality questions. She has tried her best to follow up with additional information. They really should have a mentoring process in place for new salespeople. She tried asking questions of her colleagues but they seemingly brushed her off-- which was concerning. No process of buying a car is ever simple or easy, but this one really could have been worlds better with some simple organizational processes/tweaks.

    Scammers
by SwedeSpeee from bethesda, MD | October 22, 2020

I bought a used car from them that clearly was in an accident - the running board was bent and a gap in drivers door results in wind noise. Every mechanic that has seen it says that any idiot can tell it was in an accident. The dealership refused to acknowledge it. Since then I took the car in for oil twice. Both times it was under filled and the light came on. Both times I measured the oil and confirmed it was low. I took it back and the mechanic refused to admit it was low until I talked to the manager, who tested the oil level, confirmed it was low (just like the light said) and they finally properly filled it.

    Less Than Poor Customer Service
by ChevmoDC from Washington, DC | September 29, 2020

I needed a simple repair - brought the car in in August, no one knew what to do; texted them when I returned from out of town and could not get a simple answer to a simple repair. Messaged Leo, no response. Was ready to purchase a new car, but will take my business elsewhere after this ordeal.

    easy peasy
by Trish Hamilton from Springfield VA | August 06, 2020

Justin helped us buy the fiat 500x at a good price, finance department provided us with a good quote... The car was clean and had a full tank to take it home. All together a really good experience. One little caveat: i wish all the little dents and scratches had been pointed out. I discovered some after I took the car home. It's a used car, so it's to be expected to have minor cosmetic issues. Still would have been nice to be truly informed. And the car dri ves beautifully!

Came to change valve stem in one tire
by Denis from DC | June 30, 2020

I came with a wheel that needed a change of tire valve stem. It took one and a half hour, and almost $140. I think the change of engine oil is faster and cheaper... Even the wheel was removed from my car (as I arrived on spare one). During changing the valve, the tech broke tire pressure sensor. It is not a problem for me, but the representative tried to say that I had to pay for the sensor. Even after tech confess that he pushed hard and bend the sensor. It required management involvement who resolved situation. However, I am still not sure that tire pressure sensors are working on my wheels after the change, I have some suspicions about it as I can't trust the served provided. Conclusion: Valve stem cost $8 (Volvo certified, Amason), you sell it for $40 (well, it might be ok) but all together almost $140 and 1h 30min of my waiting time? It is too much.

    Great car-buying experience
by Raghav Prasad from Sterling, VA | May 26, 2020

The entire sales and finance teams at Volvo Bethesda were great to work with. The process to negotiate a price was very friendly on both sides, and very professional. The Sales Manager in fact was able to advise me on the best path to choose for the financing. The sales associate, Kathy, was very helpful as well. In all it was a very good car-buying experience.

Agreed to Price then Tried Saying No
by Leffelman from Bloomington, IL | April 21, 2020

We agreed to a price below listing. This was after they once made us an offer below listing, and we talked them down further. We were emailed the quote with the final price, we said yes, that we already had the financing set up. They said they would UPS Next Day Air us the paperwork since we lived so far away and had agreed to pay the shipping to us (they once tried to double the shipping on us, too). We waited 3 days. During the entire time we were waiting for the paperwork, we kept calling and asking where the paperwork was. Eventually, we were informed by them that they could not sell us the vehicle at the price we agreed to and had the emailed quote showing final price for. They had our number the entire time. They could have called us as soon as they realized this, but they chose not to. It was either pay the listed price or no deal. We walked away. They also became irritated with us when we expressed frustration (we never yelled or became irate on the phone with them, and no profanity was ever used). That’s how they treat military families. They jerked us around on the shipping and jerked us around the price.
