    $10, 574.15 & less than 14, 000 miles break down?

    ON November 9, 2017 I drove from Madison, Wisconsin to this Napleton Dealer to purchase a used 2008 Hummer H3. I had done my research and felt this was the best choice. WHAT A HUGE $10,000 mistake! I wish I could attach images to further solidify this rating. I previously called and set a schedule to come in. I brought my daughter so she could experience the purchasing process. I was not coming to place a down payment, nor finance. I was outright purchasing this vehicle. Upon arrival, the salesmen (about 4 of them), stood in a group at a distance away from the door. No one approached us. An employee coming from the outside [cold] greeted us. Please keep in mind, this whole time, I have a $10,000 plus cashiers check in my coat pocket, ready to give to this place. We were finally approached by a salesman and this was not who I spoke to over the phone. Initially, the conversation was blah'ish UNTIL I mentioned that I came to ACTUALLY purchase the before-mentioned vehicle. Ah, there's the smiles, pleasant attitude and care for something to drink. Advance up to July 27, 2018 from under a year and only 14,000 miles later, I have a hole, yes an actual hole in my engine block. The local dealership that would repair this type of vehicle quoted me $6900.00 for a replacement engine, labor and tax. I was very upset so I called NAPLETON AUTO GROUP AT 505 N. Perryville in Rockford back (twice, mind you) and emailed them. In short, there is nothing that they can or will be willing to do to make this right with me. Nothing. I am a single father, proudly served this country, worked very hard for the money I made, and this is the treatment. If this would happen to someone outright buying a vehicle from Napleton, what do you think would be your buying experience will be? You do the math: $10, 574. 14 at 14,000 miles. Would you be happy? I am regular 9-to-5 hardworking American like most of you. I don't have money to just give away. Now I have to borrow different friends' vehicles to get to work EVERYDAY, get my daughter to work, grocery shopping anything that requires a vehicle, I have to borrow someone elses'. Thank you Napleton Autowerks in Rockford, Illinois for showing me that a smile and a handshake after the knowledge of an easy sale is the most financially dangerous risk that you can take.

    False advertising, dealer markups!!!!

    I stopped in to look at and test drive a used car. The advertised price was $7499 online. At the dealer, it was $8499. I brought that up and they said we'd use the online price. Ok, now moving forward. The car was in nice shape, good tires, newer battery, decent brakes. All in all, mechanically sound. However, it was dirty. More dirty than my truck and it's a daily driver shared with my teenage son, which is why I was looking at this 7 year old car. We test drove the car, all was good. We went inside and started talking. I made a $7000 offer and didn't need financing. I would buy the car then and now. Of course the salesman had to run it by his manager. He comes back and slides a piece of paper back to me saying they were in to the car for $7200 and were at the internet $7500 and they also had a $900 reconditioning fee and with tax title and license we were looking at $9000 for the car. I wasn't offended but in hindsight, it does offend me that they were giving me a runaround. We all know that they don't give $7200 on a trade and then list it at $7500. Anyways, a $7000 cash offer used to be a done deal for a $7500 car. Not at Napleton Auto. Watch out for these guys. The salesman said he could talk to his manager, but when I'm at $7000 on their $7500 car and they are telling me it's on sale already and they are at $9000, I had to walk away.

    I visited Napleton Autowerks this morning to help my older cousin buy a used car she found on cargurus.com. She was justifiably upset over losing her beloved convertible in an accident last week, and was hoping to replace it with a similar make and model. We were both apprehensive about buying a used car, but as soon as we walked in and were greeted by the friendly receptionist, I began to relax. Florian was asked to help us and he was kind, courteous, and professional. He treated my cousin respectfully and was very patient understanding when addressing her concerns about the car. He did not put pressure on her to buy the car and sought out answers to her questions that he could not answer. The finance manager, Larry, was very quick and kind. He answered her questions precisely and did not give her a hard sell on any warranty options. Her experience with Larry was much different than the ones I've had with finance managers at other dealerships, so I was pleasantly surprised. Lastly, the older gentleman who shines shoes (whose name I did not catch), is a delightful man with whom I could to for hours. His friendliness melted away our anxieties (that were mostly due to the accident she was in, not the car buying experience). He is such an asset to the dealership! My cousin drove out of Napleton Autowerks with a beautiful used car that I am confident she will be happy in for as long as she lives! (That's the idea, anyway!) Even though we live in the western suburbs and Napleton is an hour away, I will return to Napleton when I need a new car and I hope Florian will still be there to sell it to me!

    I recently had some life changes and was shopping for a smaller car. Jim Schaffer and John Vang stepped right in to help me as soon as I walked in the door. They never made me feel pressured or rushed and they answered all of my questions and concerns, no matter how small. I was so thankful to Jim and John for helping me out and making it a very pleasant and painless experience. Of all the car purchases within my lifetime, this one was number one, hands down.

    I just moved up here from Florida and of course the snow got to me being that I was driving an Accord Hybrid I decided to change cars. I contacted Napleton Honda and was contacted by Vanessa the next day. I was out of town but as soon as I go back the next day I visited the dealer. I was introduced to Ryan who showed me the CR-V based on what I wanted. He sold me on the car. Immediately we started the process but wasn't sure I would get approved because my credit was not the best. The group was involved from managers to sales reps and finance were working for me. Unfortunately I was not approved for the CRV but was approved for the 2018 HR-V EX. I could not be happier with the car. If you are looking to get a new car I definitely would suggest Napleton Honda they are excellent and will work for you on your behalf and will get u in a car.
