    I purchased a new 2020 Hyundai Elantra in January 2020 from Lehigh Valley Hyundai. I was replacing an 8 year vehicle to ensure that I had reliable transportation to work. I had not had any major issues with my old car and was just trying to play it safe by upgrading. At 5500 miles the transmission failed on my brand new Elantra leaving me stranded on the side of the road. This caused me to be late for work along with my wife having to leave work to drive me to the dealer for a loaner. I was not able to ride with the tow truck due to Covid. I thought this was a fluke and did not do anything about the problem at that time. At 17500 the transmission failed again causing me to be late to work for a 2nd time in 8 months. This has caused issues with my employer due to the unexcused lates being within a rolling 12 month period. I filed a complaint with Hyundai. After a couple of weeks of phone tag, I was told they would not do anything for me. I talked to Lehigh Valley Hyundai about helping me out of that car and into another. They offered to take the car as a trade for $9000 less then I paid for it 1 year ago and just give me the Hyundai rebate off of a new car. I guess they felt they should profit again my misfortune. In summary: If you want a reliable car, I would advise you pay a little more and get a better quality manufacturer’s car. If you have to get a Hyundai, be very careful about who you buy it from. Some dealers care about their customers and some only care about profits. I am still out the wages I lost from being late, along with my wifes lost wages all from a “brand new” car. No one has offered to do anything for me. I guess I am supposed to be grateful that they fixed it for free. Think carefully if you do not want to end up in my situation.
