    Avoid this dealership
by Sarah D from Columbus ohio | August 22, 2020

After a lot of research I found a vehicle here that caught my eye. I noticed the price was high but thought maybe they'd be willing to negotiate a little based on comparable vehicles being priced much lower with less miles than this one. I went in today to test drive a vehicle. Nice vehicle but again way overpriced. After going over numbers with the salesman he asked what was holding me back. I said, well the price is definitely a drawback. They didn't come down even a penny. I told him I would have to think about it. He was understanding and handed me a copy of everything we discussed. While walking out to my car to leave, a man claiming to be the sales manager was calling out for me. I had never met this gentleman. He followed me all the way to my car just to make a snarky remark about them pricing their vehicles very aggressively and that there was nothing they could do for me then. I found this completely unprofessional and a bullying tactic that went too far. How is it okay to follow a female or anyone to their car and try to intimidate them?? To follow me until I am opening my car door just to make a passive aggressive comment then walk away is NOT okay! I will never buy a vehicle from this lot because of it. Needless to say, we found the EXACT vehicle for $2,000 less and with 3,000 less miles at a dealership that has way better reviews and already seems to have much better customer service. Stay away from this dealership if you can. Not the proper way to run a business. If I could give zero stars I would.

    AVOID!!!
by Trey N. from Columbus, Ohio | December 31, 2019

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS!!! I bought a 2014 Jetta Sportwagen on Dec. 14 2019. I worked with Eric Stephenson. During the test drive the sunroof would not open at all and made a grinding noise, when tried. Eric told me it would be fixed if I wanted the car. I liked the car and and wrongfully assumed he had some amount of integrity. Before leaving the dealership I tried the sunroof. It opened and closed, problem solved right? Later that week there was snow. I was clearing off my car when I noticed that the sunroof wasn't aligned with the roof properly. I called the dealership and they said to bring it by. When I brought it down I was told there wasn't a tech in to look at it and to leave my name and number and they'd call me back. Never heard back. I called them again on Dec. 28 and scheduled and appointment for Monday the 30th at 9am. I bring it down and they tell me I need to replace the sunroof track because it is bent. I went and talked to Eric again and explained to him that the sunroof still isn't fixed. He asked me to have a seat as he went and talked to Justin. He comes back and says that I should contact VW but there was nothing else they could do. I call VW and their first question was, why do they think we should pay for it? I told them I was just jumping through their hoops in hopes of a resolution. After I got off the phone with Byers VW, I went and found another sales manager who was the most helpful so far. Unfortunately I didn't get his name. But when I was explaining the situation to him, Michael Dixon another sales manager, rudely interrupts and tells the other sales manager we had already had a conversation and that it's been taken care of. The currently unknown sales manager asks to see the file on my purchase. I was again asked to have a seat. Over the next half hour or so I spoke with Michael back and forth and in the end told me I needed to show up to the VW dealership and see what they can do. He also told me to purposely deceive the dealership and specifically not mention I purchased from them, because then VW would not help me. It seems to be a common theme over the last few months for this dealership to say something will be fixed and then when it's not, they act like it's not their responsibility to fix the problem they said they would fix. I contacted them again this morning. I will be filing a claim with the Consumer Protection Agency later today if I am not contacted with some sort of resolution.

    Great value and smooth transaction
by John M. from Danville, OH | June 22, 2019

The service and environment was professional and friendly. I received great value at a great price and am pleased to have a car that should give me great service for a long time. The buying process, took quite a bit of time, especially since it was a cash sale, but I suppose it comes with the territory on a purchase of this nature. Overall very happy and pleased!

    Terrible experience
by Jason from Heath, Ohio | February 23, 2019

Worst experience ever paid $15,000 for a used car that needed $2,000 worth of work so exhaust fumes wouldn't hurt my family. We noticed this less than 24 hours after purchasing and no one cared enough to make it right.

    Paint and body repair-
by David Streets from Heath, Ohio | January 11, 2019

David Streets assisted me following vehicle detail. Made arrignments for body shop to paint scratch on 2017 F 150 tailgate. The job at the body shop is less than quality, the paint that is covering the small scratch doesn’t even seem to be the same color. Not sure this was worth the time and effort to have repair done. The spot is very noticeable and looks like constant water streak on the tail gate of my truck.

    HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
by Joe from Heath, Ohio | December 19, 2018

Drove 3 1/2 hours to look at a specific vehicle only to find it had three new tires and one bald tire. That should have been our first sign. Then the back hatch door could not open. We left with the engine running and the salesman arguing with us. Worst we have ever experienced. We ended up buying the same vehicle the next day elsewhere and almost stopped in there to show the salesman it was possible to buy a much nicer vehicle with 4 new tires and working doors and no rust for a lot less than he was asking. What a joke of a dealership and salesman. Will never give them a chance again.

    Awful Customer Service
by Joe (GM), Jeff, Jason from Newark, OH | October 25, 2018

I recently took my 2016 Acura TLX into Hinderer Honda thinking they could do warranty work. I told them I felt a vibration from the right rear tire between 70-80mph. They asked if they could take it out to I-70 so they could legally take it above 70mph and I said that was fine. They instead decided to put it up on the rack, test drive it to 80mph, but spiking it at 120mph (even though the service manual says not to take it above 40mph). This caused the drive shaft to explode, severely damaging the catalytic converter and exhaust system, along with several flash shields and brake lines. When they called to tell me what was going on, they simply said the drive shaft was broken and it needed to go to Acura for warranty work. They then told me I needed to arrange and pay for towing and that I would owe them a diagnostic fee. It wasn’t until the car got to Acura that we learned the truth. Acura called us asking if we had hit anything as there was severe damage to the underside and broken parts in the trunk. They then called Honda who admitted to them what had happened. Acura obviously opted not to cover it under warranty, but we still wanted them to do the work with Honda reimbursing them since Honda had not only destroyed my car but lied to us. Honda refused to let Acura do the work and told us it was because it would cost them more money that way. We finally got fed up and told them to just fix it. After my husband had a bad experience with one of the service advisors on the phone, we were assured by the General Manager that we would only be dealing with the GM and the Assistant Service Manager from there on out. This also ended up not being true as the GM redirected us to the same rude service advisor several times afterwards. After asking what they could do to make the whole situation better since they had so royally screwed up, they had the gall to put me in a base model CRV (no power seats, nothing) in exchange for my fully-loaded TLX. I was without my car for an entire week while they lied and tried to pawn this off on Acura and then it took another week for them to actually order the parts and get it fixed. The car seems fine now, but I’ll be taking it in to Acura to verify that they actually fixed everything and did it properly. I will never go back to Hinderer Honda again, not because they severely damaged my car (things happen, people are human, etc.), but because they repeatedly lied to me and proved time and again that they were only looking out for their bottom line and to xxxx with the customer.
