    BATE, LIES, AND INCOMPETENCE from sales manager JASON BARR at the Lennox SD location. (LEMON - White 2012 Prius V Five - VIN JTDZN3EU8C3031943). Read on to hear our experience. BATE - We worked with a nice salesman who was lovely. He even sent us nice places to eat in the area since we were from out of town. We drove 5 hours from the twin cities to look at a car that was a great deal for the year and miles. We were assured it was in great condition and that the salesman could not find anything wrong with it. He even sweetly offered a small discount because I am a teacher. I was excited to buy my wife a nice car. LIES - upon arriving, I immediately noticed countless small rust spots along the entire passenger side of the car that did not appear in the photos. Not only on the passenger side, but also on the front, inside the doors etc. The nice salesman was clearly new and incompetent, so went to get his manager Jason Barr. Jason then proceeded to downplay the situation and tell us "all cars in Minnesota are like that" (not true), "clay bar" solution could fix it (temporarily), and that even our car had rust (ours has 200k miles with two dots, not the same). Basically all around sleazy sales tactics. Luckily I have a friend who owns an auto body shop, called him, and he told me to run as far away as I could. The salesman was clearly lying, it was always going to be an issue and would get worse. INCOMPETENCE - After we clearly said, "no", all the pressure and lying stopped and Jason was suddenly very apologetic and kind. We had put $2500 down on our credit card as a down payment to hold it until the weekend when we could drive down. Instead of refunding our money, he instead put an additional $2500 on our credit card! It took half a week to get all our money back while they maxed out our credit card. He clearly wanted to avoid this negative review so he offered us gift cards to a place that was closed and to another that was only good in Sioux Falls. Smooth. LESSON - they might have a car you want to buy. Get it checked out by a mechanic and don't trust ANYTHING they say. Also, they probably found a way to hide all the rust on this car so they can sucker someone else into buying it. I hope you read this post before you do.

    It took quite awhile to hear back from them when I requested to see if a vehicle was still available. When I did hear back from them - I sent another email with a question. It took days to respond back.

    Screwed me and my insurance

    Our 2013 Dodge Durango was in an accident and we decided to take it to Jerry’s which turned out to be a big mistake. I had the vehicles check engine light checked after the accident and it showed a couple codes having to do with oil sensor, coolant low, and fans not working from the accident. They quoted $8300 worth of damage and it was repairable since it wasn’t the $8400 worth of damage it needed to total it out. That was fine and I told them it needs to have the engine and drive train checked because it did get warm. They charged 79.95 plus 1/2 hour labor twice to plug it into a scanner and just delete the codes and never let me know what was wrong or what they were going to do until they already ordered parts and started working on it. Anyways we pick up the Durango and get almost home since we live about 70 miles away and the check engine light comes on for low antifreeze and the oil control valve stuck in low so it puts the Durango in limp mode. Call Jerry’s back and they say to bring it back but we would have to pay for it or contact our insurance. So we take to another shop to find out that it needs a head gasket from getting hot and probably an oil pump or oil solinode valve which the shop said that it was most likely from the accident and getting hot and would be $3000 to fix. About 600 miles before the accident we had all fluids changed some suspension parts replaced and new tires an alignment done. And now we need new tie rods and a ball joint that were damaged in the accident. So basically Jerry’s fixed the body and kept it under $8400 to get the money because If they would of put the engine and suspend damage on the estimate it would have been totaled out and they wouldn’t of made any money on it. Would not recommend them at all very unprofessional and the body work looks very amature you can see they just filled the dents with bondo and sanded it down can see the sand marks under the paint and the uneven clumps under the paint plus I still have broken plastic behind my bumper and grill. Stay away from them

    Nothing but problems

    My tires weather worn, taillight/blinker went out twice, check engine light goes on/ off weekly, yesterday it wouldn’t speed up at the stop light and began to shake, and today sunroof stopped working. All since my purchase in November.

    Never going back

    Salesmen called my husband by the wrong name. He didn't understand how a push to start vehicle could run without the keys in the SUV. When asked if the keys were actually in the SUV (very logical question for SUV that does not need the keys to be in it to run). He gave a very rude response indicating how stupid he thought we were. They refused to budge on the value of our trade and laughed at us when we asked for more. When we left I looked at the door and saw another salesman looking out the window laughing at us. As a result we went to another dealership in Sioux Falls and got the value we were wanting for the trade in and a better SUV at lower cost. We got a LOT more respect, and we are purchasing a car today from Law Motors.

    Know your buying power and do your homework!

    My husband I were ready to purchase a vehicle, with check in hand, but the refusal to add a meager $1000 to our trade in value or cut a $1000 off the cost of the purchase price of the new vehicle, caused us to do business elsewhere. The salesman was great and just doing his job. I don’t blame this on him. Ultimately, it wasn’t his call. But the sales manager caused him to lose a sale. If $1000 extra is too much for a dealership, that speaks volumes, then it’s way, way too much for the buyer to pay. I wasn’t concerned about losing $1000. It was the principle of the matter. If they won’t budge over such a small amount, what serious and important matters are they willing to pass on to the buyer and refuse to take care of? In part, I’m sure they were less willing to offer more on our trade or take less for the purchase because we weren’t planning on financing through them. Then, they’d deduct $1000 off if we financed with them. Which by the way, if you have good credit, you should absolutely check with your own bank 1st. In our case, the interest rate we have with our bank was almost half of what their disclosure states their interest rate is with a credit score of 720 or better. Moral of the story, do your homework and understand you have options. You work hard for your money and don’t just throw it away. Also, if you want an honest dealership that will work hard for your business, Sioux Falls Ford gave us exactly what we asked Jerry’s for on our trade and we got a great vehicle at a great price. Ask for Jason in sales; he was, by far, the absolute best to work with! We are also shopping for a car for our teenage son, and Jason will make another sale off of us, as well as all future sales, because of the way he performed and the way Sioux Falls Ford operates their business. Now, they got a 5 star rating from me and a quite a boastful review!!!

    My wife and I were looking for a vehicle to travel with all all kids, we were told that everything works only to find out that the AC doesn't work and they were not willing to help, never go back to this place again.

    I liked the no pressure on buying they didn't try to sell me a car I didn't come to look at. BJ was honest if he didn't know the answer he found someone who did I hate it when they read me the option sheet over and over at other dealerships when they don't know. We got a higher trade value than at the big factory dealers in Sioux Falls. Great communication from the sales person he never hounded me let me take my time to think things over let me drive as many as I wanted to find the right one.
