Another great experience purchasing a vehicle!
by Mark Jinga from Lake Geneva, WI | October 19, 2019

When I need to purchase a vehicle, I shop at Gary Lang! The reason I continue to purchase vehicle after vehicle from Gary Lang is because of great sales people like Bill Ciszon and Ryan Miller. I like the fact that I can walk into the dealership and purchase a new vehicle without any hassles or headaches. These are 2 exceptional individuals who make it refreshing to purchase a vehicle.

The service writer is a fellow Marine. He went out of his way to accommodate me. I recently had a stroke and he went the extra mile in assisting me. Thank you Gary Lang for hiring a veteran.

Home of the Bait and Switch
by Disappointed Customer from Milwaukee, WI | September 20, 2019

Was quoted a price and provided the quote in writing. At the last minute, they called and told me that the price that was quoted was incorrect and they would not honor it. Spoke with the Internet Sales Manager who guaranteed me the price, and she said she was going to talk with the GM about the discrepancy and she called me back and said she spent an hour trying to get the pricing that was promised but could not. I asked to speak with the GM and he didn't even know what I was talking about and hadn't spoken with the Internet Sales Manager that day at all! He didn't seem to care that they guaranteed the price and I had it in writing and when I was talking to him about it, he hung up on me. Very unprofessional! Nothing but lies from the beginning. Beware of this dealership!!

    Travelers be extremely cautious
by Disappointed from Illinois | September 14, 2019

To the out of town buyers, more then 45 minutes worth of driving, proceed with extreme, extreme caution. If you have any experience with buying vehicles at a distance take heed to the red flags they will throw up. I called on a 2017 Ram 2500 they have on their lot. Talked to a Jessica first off, gave her the normal info on my trade and explained it’s a distance deal. She got back to me with a kbb evaluation for a trade in allowance that ranged several thousand dollars apart. Fine, except for not too many dealerships offer you kbb numbers for your trade, they’re usually high. I questioned and she said it wouldn’t be under the lowest number on the kbb eval that she gave me. Which was still thousands more then the other dealerships I had spoke to. She did this without talking to a used car manger. (Red Flag) So a couple days later, I call back and talked to a Sophia, used car manger, and she assured me that she would give me more money then what Jessica had said, what??? (Red flag) So then I called Jessica back and asked what the condition of the truck was in, scratches and dings, etc. I understand it’s a used truck, I expect a few minor scratch and what not. 5 minutes later I get a text back stating that the truck is “mint condition” and “it won’t last long”. So based off that info I thought well I’ll prep myself for a “bait and deflate” deal and I’ll spend X on truck if it is in “mint condition”. Bait and deflate is what I call dealerships that offer high allowances and then make excuses for why they can’t offer you that high amount. Sat on the deal for a week knowing this wasn’t right. Finally decided I have nothing to do, so I’ll make a run just in case this pans out. (Never again, my fault) Call up there, tell I’m coming up, set up an appt, and take off. Get to the dealership today, no Jessica, was met by some younger guy, Zach(?), kept calling me “boss”. He explained that he lays the ground work, then he passes me off to a manger and then that’s where the deal goes down. Third and forth person involved in this circus. He kept pushing for the key to start evaluating my trade and then we’d go look at the vehicle. I said we’ll let’s go look at this truck to make sure it’s in “mint condition” otherwise we won’t make it to the forth person in this deal. So finally I went out and found the vehicle and from fifty feet away I saw a pretty good door ding in the drivers door. Ok, here we go, at that point the deal was dead, but we looked closer. The truck might’ve had some paint protection done to it, but up by the drivers side headlight it was peeling off. The right rear fender flare had been rubbed up against, based off the scratches, and the flare itself was loose on the truck. The back bumper had a scratch to the metal, and under the drivers door a nice sized spot of coating was peeling off. I won’t mention the minor scratches here and there, I could’ve lived with those. The young salesman said that they’d fix all that was wrong as part of the deal. I told him there’s no way they’d do that since that was about 2/2500 worth of touch up. Keep in mind the already high appraisal, now you’re throwing in that too??? That’s when I just told him I’m out. Shame on me for second guessing myself. So if you’re looking for an out of town dealership that has rough communication skills, a different meaning for “mint condition”, and use a timeshare pyramid type negotiating tactic, this is your place!!! In the end it was a learning experience...... I also don’t need an insincere response from the dealership saying it’s sorry for all the miscommunication and how you don’t negotiate that way, even though I didn’t post the texts between myself and the dealership that I saved, and then give me the general mangers phone number, blah blah. I already got his number from the other bad complaints.
