    Beware of this dishonest dealership!!
by Byron Caldwell from Chesapeake, Va | December 26, 2020

Buyers beware!! We recently stopped by to browse new models. We were nit driving the vehicle we were considering to trade (19 Pilot Elite). We looked at the the 21 Highlander Platinum Hybrid AWD. (Which we ultimatwly bought) Our concern whwn looking at it was the space in the third row. It looked tight. But we were assured the redesigned model actually had more space than our Pilot. Without it there to compare and the kids not with us to test, we took their word. After all, they should be the experts, right? Wrong!! They knowingly lied to us about the space. The third row of a highlander is nithing more than for looks. Even our small childeren cannot sit back there comfortably! Quickly learning our mistake, we went back to explain our dislike and was still trying to deal with them. Knowing we would lose some money, we were going to try to trade for a new Sequoia so we would have the space we needed. Not only did they want us to lose the $9k we put down on the Highlander, they wanted us to lose thousands more on top of that!! Really, after they lied to sell the first one, they were still out for blood!! Granted, some of this was certainly our mistake and we own up to that, but don't think for a second that this dealerahip will be truthful with you. Their answers are whatever it will take to make a sale. Toyotas were known to hold value, now I'm not so sure! May I suggest you go to Priority Toyota if you are absolutely set on buying a Toyota. They are the kargest in the area, so I'm sure they pride themselves on honesty to get repeat buyers. Lear from our mistake!!

    Overzealous Stalkers for Sales Reps
by Kirloanshounta from Virginia | August 01, 2020

Two weeks ago I priced a vehicle and that was it. Said I wasn't interested. Since then I receive daily calls, tests, and emails from Caitlin White. I've opted out, been nice, and multiple times said I am not interested. She is the most annoying Sales rep I have ever dealt with.

    Highly upset
by Kim from Suffolk, VA | June 17, 2019

Took my car in on the 4th of June for maintenance, notice a bulge in my tire. They rotated my tires but never changed out my tire. If it wasn’t for my husband noticing a oil leak because the cap wasn’t tightened down... took it in and of course never a extra vehicle for me to use but I can wait in hour for a shuttle! Paying all this money for sad service

    Excellent used car experience
by Becky H from Vienna, VA | May 13, 2019

I found the car I wanted at a great price online at this dealership. I worked with Jennifer in Internet Sales and Dan Toner in the sales department. They were both great. Helpful, honest and very responsive. I asked for additional pictures of the car and received detailed pictures including minor dings almost immediately. The dealership was 3 hours away and when I got there the car was exactly as described. There were no scams, pressure, or secret costs added on. The transaction went quickly and I was on my home in my car within 90 minutes of arriving. Exceptional experience. Would definitely recommend the dealer and Dan Toner.

    Don't go there
by ANNETTE SUTTON from Portsmouth | April 30, 2019

I wasn't going to write a review until I received in the mail today, an advertisement for " Free check engine" 27 days after I paid $99.00 for check engine light inspection along with getting a tune up and Fuel system service - THAT I DID NOT ASK FOR. I WAS SCREWED!!!!! as long as I own my Matrix it WILL NOT GO THERE FOR SERVICE AGAIN!

    Incorrect Advertised Price
by Tacomaholic from Cincinnati, OH | August 24, 2018

Multiple vehicles were listed for a price that was $3500 less than the lowest price they were willing to honor. They stayed it was a mistake, but remained unchanged on their site for an extended period of time. Feels like a deceitful tactic to get people in the door.

    Bad Service Relation Employee
by Fred Moran from Suffolk, VA | March 26, 2018

I was at First Team Toyota Chesapeake today(March 26, 2018) to have my Toyota Tacoma serviced, but unfortunately the guest relations employee (Ms Sherri Woody) had an attitude to the point were she was rude...not sure if she was having a bad day, but even if that was the case customers should always be treated with courtesy and dignity. She definitely lacked courtesy and had no respect when responding to questions pertaining to the requested service. After receiving her lack of attention service I opted to not drop off my vehicle for repairs and decided to come the following day to deal with a service rep that has the desire to serve customers. With employees like her it is hard to recommend First Team to anyone or to even consider purchasing a vehicle at this location. Recommend she be given training in customer relations services. I will return to First Team, but only because I know there is an employee that has been courteous with me in the past...it's the only reason I will return. An employee can have a tremendous influence with customers, but apparently she is unaware of the importance of being courteous and the effect this can have on a business.

2012 Corolla from First Team in Chesapeake, VA
by WendyB from Chesapeake, VA | August 02, 2017

We were searching for a used Camry with low mileage, but unable to find one at this time. What I can say are great things about First Team in Chesapeake, VA. We bought our 2012 Corolla used from them and had a great experience. Nice facility and great staff. The sales rep even knocked $300 off the sticker price even without us asking him to. We have been totally satisfied with the Corolla and hope we can find a used Camry just as good.

    buying my car
by shirl from va | November 09, 2016

I went in to buy my car. I had already seen the car that I wanted on line. My salesman was named Clarence Johnson, He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the car. He was very professional . I have already referred many of my family and friends to him. He is a great asset to the company. Now after I got the car and had to go back for my first oil change it was terrible. The customer service form the service department I would rate as less the 0. When I walked in no one said Good Morning, may I help you or anything . I had to find someone to help me and then when my car was finished I had to go in the bay and drive my car out myself. I think that the employees that work in the service department need a refresher course in customer service 101.
