    Don’t waste your time
by DThayer from Little Rock, Ark | September 03, 2020

I purchased two vehicles from them a few months ago and already having motor timing chain issues out of the Sorento. They would like to charge me $500 to correct the issue and thats WITH the extended warranty coverage we paid an arm and a leg for. They were not interested in trading it in because they would make more money repairing it. I personally will not waste my time dealing with these crooks again.

Bait and Switch or just poor customer service?
by C from Little Rock, AR | June 22, 2020

My experience with Crain Kia of Sherwood was unfortunately disappointing from start to finish. On Wednesday June 17th my father and I visited Crain Kia’s sister company Crain Hyundai of North Little Rock in search of a particular used vehicle listed online. When we got there, we were told that the vehicle had already sold. On Friday June 19th, I discovered that the same vehicle was listed on Crain Kia’s website for a higher price. My father contacted an internet salesperson who gave the impression of contacting the manager and confirming its availability. They discussed my trade-in and scheduled a time to come in that evening to hopefully work out a deal. The minute we arrived on the lot, my father received a text message informing him that the particular vehicle we were interested in had sold and they would like to show us others. We immediately asked to speak to the manager suspecting that we were victims of the “bait and switch” tactic. The manager we spoke to claimed that it was a miscommunication caused by a faulty dealer website. We were told that this was a common issue and likely wouldn’t be the last time. He also informed us that the vehicle had in fact been sold May 27th, nearly one month earlier. Whether an intentional deception or purely a mistake, the manager gave the impression of attempting to shirk responsibility and his demeanor was only mildly apologetic. We drove off the lot that evening equal parts livid and disappointed to have not made a purchase. Even if this wasn’t an intentional deception, we learned a few things about the dealership through that interaction: 1) Don’t trust the online listings even if you confirm availability. Request to see a time-stamped photo of the vehicle before wasting your time. 2) Management may not offer proper training to salespeople, particularly in regard to confirming inventory. I can fully appreciate that this may not have been the fault of the salesperson in particular (who I was informed had only been working for 3 days), but I expect the managerial staff to be candid about such issues with employees. 3) Management doesn’t take kindly to complaints from customers and has an unapologetic and even abrasive attitude. My father was heated at the start of our conversation and used inappropriate language that may have caused a tense environment, but we later apologized and tried to have a civil discussion of our complaints. In any case, what happened to the old adage “the customer is always right”? I got the impression that the dealership didn’t really care about our business. 4) Although this may be trivial to some, I was also disappointed to find that all the salesmen I interacted with in person only offered to shake my father’s hand (I’m a woman in her late 20s).

    Chicken $#! business practices!
by Travis Grotz from Sedalia, MO | December 10, 2019

I spoke with Gerald and got great assistance from him. He did an excellent job getting extra photos and answering questions I had about a vehicle they had listed. I agreed to purchase the car provided it was as it appeared in the photos they provided me. Crain asked my to place a $500 deposit on the car to hold it for four days, I live 350 miles away and wouldn't be able to take the car until the weekend. Gerald said that the manager would have to run my card for the $500 deposit so the three of us were on the phone and I gave them my information. They processed my payment and provided me with a photo of the receipt. This all happened around 5pm. At roughly 5:30-5:45pm I received a call from someone looking to set my appointment to do all the paper work when I arrived on Saturday. I gave them the approximate time I would arrive and the call was ended in less than 10 minutes. The following morning I got a text from my son at roughly 9:30am saying that a salesman he had spoken with about the car said it was sold to a walk in customer the same evening I made the deposit on the car. Now maybe it is just me but I find extremely hard to believe the Sales Manager didn't know the car was sold when he took my deposit nor do I understand why they would contact me to setup a time for doing the paper work if the car had been sold prior to me making the deposit. On top of all the BS above I waited for them to contact me to explain what was going on from 9:30am to approximately 12pm. After this amount of time I finally called them and requested my money be returned to me immediately. They were quick to take my deposit but not so quick to return it after selling the car.

Horrible customer service Hello, I would like to speak to the dealership. No, Crain Kia is not number 1. I have had a horrible experience with them from giving me lemon car to a loaner car that had dog hair all in it and made my child sick

    Dosy Newton
by Becky Bittle from Little Rock, Arkansas | June 16, 2019

No stars. I was quick talked into buying a car I could not afford. We didn’t even to test drive it. The sales person told us he would “help us out”. He used wit, flattery, telling my daughter she was cute and would like to set her up with his son and so much more. He twisted what we said. I had even told him we weren’t interested in buying a car, then he followed us outside any way where I told him we didn’t want to waste his time because I just brought my other car in to be serviced. My daughter said I am 18 and don’t have license or even a permit. He said if you have an ID I can sell you a car. He continued to push. Before we knew what happened we had a car that based on our income we could not afford. Crain KIA OF Sherwood showed us where the stereotype of Used car salesmen comes from.

    Mr. Anthony
by AngryCustomer from North Little Rock, AR | April 26, 2019

I came into the Sherwood location today (4/25/19). I was told a yr ago that my car was fixed with shrapnel in the air bags. Never was fixed and my family is riding dangerous. Tried to speak with the GM David he wanted to hear nothing. When I told him I would post my compliant to Facebook he got angry and said to me to leave and my car was fixed, I contacted corporate and he was still rude by telling me to hush and get out of the building. I never got heated. Crain Kia needs to be held accountable for the people they put in high positions. The GM cares more about money than the safety of their customers!!!!
