Courtesy Volvo and Courtesy Chevy Back story: I was involved in a car accident and our main reliable vehicle was totaled. We were not planning on this situation so our funds are very limited for a down payment. We were only able to scrape together 1000. We were looking for vehicles with 3 rows as we have 4 kids, and low price to stay within our budget. We were told by Daniel after a few days he had the deal wrapped up with 1500 down which was stretching us but we really need a vehicle to get to work. We were very clear with the amount we had down and that we were driving over and hour from San Tan Valley. They assured us we were good and they would not waste our time like the previous dealership had. We went into the dealership. Daniel presented with a payment which we agreed to and were told Finance would be out to grab us for paperwork. Then came the bait and switch.... Suddenly they needed 1500 more down, which we are not able to do. A bit more back and forth and the deal was off. They recommended we go to their sister dealership Courtesy Chevy. After the treatment we received here we were hesitant to go to their sister dealership but we called and spoke to Shola. He assured us we could get it done with him at Courtesy Chevy and we drove over to that dealership. I should have gotten the bad vibe when Shola didn’t even bother to come to the showroom to meet us before he pawned us off on another sales person Crystal. We discussed our needs (3 rows, reasonable payment). We offered her the same 1500 we had offer Courtesy Volvo. She came back with can we put more down, we agreed to the 1500 and an additional 500 deferred till Oct. She came back and said she was given a couple of vehicles to show us. She shows us a Prius? At that point we felt really offended and were ready to leave, but she asked that we meet with the Finance Mngr of the CAC Dept Carlos Valenzuela. After a conversation he tells us he can get the deal done. He needed copies of our bank statements which we couldn’t get until Monday morning. So two more days wasted we are now on Monday. We spend all day Monday running around for bank statements, and this form, and that form. Finally Monday afternoon after assuring us he would be able to get a deal done, he has the sales person call me to let me know they need 3000 down to get into the car we were told we were good on. Conclusion: We spent the remainder of that week trying to get together some more funds. We got some help from family and with the 3000 down they gave us two options a version of the vehicle we were told we would qualify for with the 3000 down and a Traverse with a payment of $689. There seems like need for Customer Service training and development here when you have a conversation with one of them and minutes later they have completely forgotten any of the things important to you and your family. There also should be a point where you follow thru when you give a customer your word. I would not recommend Courtesy Brand of dealerships as a whole. Even when they were possibly my only option I didn’t want to give them my business. I am pleased to say I purchased a vehicle at $120 lesser from a payment stand point and for 60 months as opposed to 72.

Shady Trades and Awful Customer Service
by PreemieMama from Chandler | September 10, 2019

Hello Prospective Courtesy Chevrolet customers! If you're looking for shady deals and terrible customer service, you've hit the jackpot! My husband and I went in to just look at and test drive some vehicles, with the possibility of going back that weekend to buy if we liked the service and price. We had two salesmen and an assistant manager work with us. One left early without pulling the cars out as he said he was going to before he left. We spent about an hour around the used car lot looking at the vehicles we wanted to test drive. When we finally got to the last one, a 2016 Chevy Volt, our saleswoman told us she she didn't know much about the car. After driving around in the car for a while, it became apparent that she knew nothing at all about the car she was trying to sell us. It didn't mean much at first until we got back to the dealership. We were starting to seriously consider buying the Volt due to it being a good price for the car and having all the features we wanted. We asked to see an accident report on the vehicle several times, but we're told there were no accidents on its record. We were also promised by the sales reps that we could get approximately $3,000 on our trade in, and financing for 72 months. We started filling out the paperwork when the saleswoman came back and said the car was ready and we needed to start emptying the trade in vehicle. My husband left to go do this, and up to this point had been helping me read through all the information on the contracts and disclaimers. Once he left, the finance worker rushed me through the rest of the paperwork and hardly paused for me to read through the paperwork. By the time we left, the price jumped up way more than it should have, they only gave us $1000 on our trade in (against their word), and we still didn't have an accident report. We didn't leave the dealership until 10:30 p.m. The next morning we started looking into car insurance. We kept getting quotes for over $1300. When we called and asked why, the insurance company said our car had been in an accident. Of course we are livid! We did not want to buy a car that had been in an accident for the amount that we paid. We tried calling for over a week to fix this, and we're always told they "couldn't pull the car's record" or help us without a manager there, or they would have to "do more research". They still won't do anything to try and fix this, so we are looking into charging them for dealership fraud for failing to report an accident. So if you're still looking to buy from them, over the next few weeks you will see my wonderful veteran husband, a stay at home dad, in his Navy Dress Blues letting you know just what kind of service and "deals" you can expect from this place.

    Worst Car Buying Experience Ever
by K Moraga from Phoenix, AZ | July 29, 2019

I went in to purchase a vehicle that I had found online to be used in my business fleet. We began working with Gustavo Maldonado who was a really nice guy, but Gustavo was clearly there just to bring us to the table. After we agreed that we wanted the car, Gustavo was off to work with another customer. Then Manuel Castillo stepped in. This guys is as rude as he is inept. He has zero understanding of business financing and basically almost sent us away because we were not willing to personally finance our business vehicle. Then the slimy used car salesmen tactics came into play. First, they would leave us sitting for endless amounts of time for no apparent reason other than to waste 5 hours of our Saturday and limit the chances that we would get up and go to another dealership. Then he played the "this is your monthly payment" game without telling us the price of the car. When that didnt work he finally gave us a breakdown of the sale price. The car was advertised on every website for $29K - but they added another $4K in aftermarket charges. When I stated I didnt want to aftermarket options I was told that it was not optional. Then he said about the stupidest thing I have ever heard a salesperson say- he said "you have to pay this - this is our profit". I mean, points for honesty, but what kind of salesman says this. He went round and round trying to tell me that "this is how you buy a car" like I am some idiot that has never done this or can not tell when I am being completely conned. This man is clearly out of his depth in this career choice. Finally, after I lost my patience and decided I was going to leave, Steve Holt came over to save the sale. Steve is a total shark just a more polished version. He came over giving us a song and dance about the fact that to be competitive they have to basically lie about the real price of the car on-line so that customers will come in. The "non-optional" 4K mark-up is where they get their profit. Again, this is total BS but "trying to earn my business" he dropped it to $400 which actually ended up being $600 when he came back to table. After 5 hours of torture, I just wanted to pay the difference and go home so I agreed. He also tried to cry the blues about the interest expense of financing a 5M used car fleet. When I pointed out that this should give him more incentive to sell the car as interest is based on time on the lot - he dropped that line of stupidity. Furthermore, it is crazy to think that your customer will gladly pay more than the advertised price because you need to pay your business expenses - it is assumed your overhead is written into the asking price of the car. If you cant be competitive maybe you should consider that you have tons of employees and most of the time they are standing around talking to each other, eating, or playing on their cell phone. Lose the dead weight and you may be able to honestly sell a car. In 2019, with the so many other business models for selling cars via the internet it is pathetic that these insulting business practices still take place. I would never personally buy a car from someone that was intentionally lying to me- not with other options for car buying. Chevy is a good brand and should be embarrassed to have these type of salespeople representing their brand.

I like the facility. Has a deli and TVs to pass the time as you wait for your vehicle. Took 2 1/2 hours for an oil change I guess if it?s free it?s ok but would take it somewhere else if I had to pay for it.

    Worst Experience Ever
by Andrew T Garritson from PHOENIX, AZ | July 22, 2019

Worst car-buying experience out of the last 5 I've had. 1. Discussed pricing with salesman on a Sunday evening and they pushed the purchase off until next day due to working hours after test driving a few and finding an acceptable one. Understandably so since it was 5:50p on Sunday. 2. When I arrived, the price jumped an additional $4,000 over night and was well over what we discussed the day prior. I feel like I was baited to come back the next day with promises of "we got you exactly what you want" and appropriate financing messages when confirming the next day prior to arriving (and I live over 40 minutes away). 3. The certified pre-owned warrant status of the vehicle was a sham and barely covered anything. This wasn't disclosed until the financing process and thus the pricing jumped on the monthly payment by over $100. 4. The finance officer, Edwin, had a used car salesman vibe with how fast he was trying to rush through the seemingly disjointed process as he required 20 minutes to get set up and frantically bustled between offices. While waiting, someone else waiting mentioned that his license plate had still yet to arrive after the purchase had been completed, stating that he needed to submit additional paperwork weeks AFTER the purchase was completed. 5. After the shady purchase was completed, the detailing department didn't even clean the truck completely and left me with a dusty AF truck bed and disgustingly dirty keys covered in thumb grime. 6. The finance department then proceeded to hassle me for additional documentation that the finance officer missed or didn't collect in his rush to push a warranty on me. The purchase of the vehicle dragged on for an additional 2 weeks due to my 5a-7p work schedule and got down to the wire. 7. After driving the vehicle for about a week, I noticed that the seat started vibrating when driving above 70 mph and when I brought it in the service department proceeded to tell me that the services I needed to have done would be charged, regardless of my "extended bumper to bumper" warranty that I had paid an additional $3000 for. 8. Haven't received a satisfaction survey to give them the feedback so apparently the only way this kind of experience will ever get fixed is through a terrible Google review. Extremely unsatisfactory service all around and seems like lots of misdirection and dishonesty around the process. As a Marine veteran, this is simply UNSAT and will not purchase here, refer friends here, and will ensure my friends, family, and fellow veterans looking for an honest and straightforward car-buying experience go elsewhere.

by Shane Jackson from Mesa, AZ | June 29, 2019

If I could I wouldn't add any stars. I've had my pre-owned certified car and it has been in the shop more than I've had it. Just over heated again after serviced and paid close to 500$ Monday. It's been less than a full week.
