    BE WARY
by Dan from Lapel, Indiana | June 18, 2020

I really wanted to like this place. I had high hopes, and honestly most of the experience was pleasant. I want to be very detailed here, so bear with me. I came to Carmel motors to purchase a BMW i3. On the test drive I noted the check engine light was on. When we returned from the test drive I asked our salesman Alex about it. He "went to the back to check" and when he returned he informed us that "This happens on the BMW when the battery and fuel levels get to low. A simple recharge of the battery will cure this." A quick google search showed that this in fact can happen, so happy with the rest of the vehicle we continued on. After signing the papers and getting in the vehicle I noticed the light was still on (I had assumed they cleared it). I went back in to speak to Alex and his exact words were "go home, charge it...if that doesn't fix it we will take care of you." Fast forward to the next day, check engine light was still on. I take the vehicle to Autozone and a quick diagnostic shows that in fact a sensor is bad. This brings about the first true concern. Either Alex and the mechanic did not run a test and just made the issue up, or they ran the test and still made something up. Either way it certainly appears that we were lied to. Now comes the second part. Hoping Alex was true to his words of "We will take care of you." I have tried repeated calls and emails. You guessed it...crickets...not so much as a call back. Now we did buy this vehicle as-is no warranty. We knew the risks associated with that, and we were comfortable. My issue is this...we would have required the issue to be fixed on the check engine light before taking ownership had we not been lied to about the source of the issue. You want to try to not think the worst of car salesmen, but then something like this happens. They sold us the vehicle under false pretenses and once it was out the door we became a distant after-thought. Here is my advice to anyone thinking of shopping there. BE WARY of whatever they tell you. I would even go as far as to suggest taking the vehicle to your mechanic before signing the papers.

    First car !!
by morgan from Greenwood, Indiana | June 10, 2020

This was my first car buying experience so I don’t have a lot to compare it BUT my salesman Daniel was absolutely incredible ! He helped me find the perfect car and was extremely friendly and personable which took away the anxiety I had walking in about buying my first car. I do wish some of the added additions to the payment would have been mentioned prior to me falling in love with the car BUT it wasn’t too big of a deal and I left the dealership saturday with a BMW, a payment I cant manage, and a very good first car buying experience ! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

be careful, do not trust anyone at this dealership
by Dan from Phoenix, AZ | May 08, 2020

I am an out of state buyer. Save yourself a headache and visit the dealership and take a mechanic if you are not one yourself. Since I couldn't really see the car I asked for pictures of specific items, I never received those, the salesman always had an excuse; he's on a test drive or he's off and etc. I shouldn't have trusted the guy. (The process took weeks to complete, he had time to take some pics for me) After the car arrived and while still on the truck, I could see from 20 feet away that the rotors were severely scored and upon closer view the pads were worn completely out. The truck driver warned me not to drive it until I get the brakes fixed and he was right. Many other costly items are broken and it's pretty obvious that the dealership did no inspection of the car for safety or general condition. I took the car to the local Mercedes dealership and they gave me a list of items: brake pads and rotors, mismatched and worn tires (only the trashiest dealerships would even attempt to sell cars with mismatched tires, especially those that are worn out), front struts damaged and the left one is broken, the radio doesn't work, side light broken, and body molding pieces missing. Some of these are safety items that are not acceptable. Looking online at IN codes for vehicle dealerships, their regs are very loosely worded and easy to circumvent for a sleazy dealer. In the end, it's my fault for not going to see the car. I would have still purchased the car, though I would have had these things fixed as part of the deal.

    Terrific experience, thanks!
by BobbyNY from Long Island, NY | March 24, 2020

I just purchased a 2003 Lexus SC430 from this dealership and I am extremely satisfied with the entire process. I was in the market for this specific car and located one through this site, and began talking to Tyler, who was who was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. The car is in incredible shape for it's age. But I asked him specifically to send me pictures of flaws that the car has. The pictures on their site are terrific but every car has a few flaws, and he sent me pics of things that we're not perfect, so there was not a single surprise in the process. I had a company inspect the car, and arranged shipment, and all went off without a hitch with open communication the entire time. Tyler communicates by phone and by text so it was really simple to coordinate everything. Even their receptionist is helpful and friendly. The paperwork is incredibly organized, they knew exactly what they were doing. When I registered the car in New York, I needed an original reassignment document versus the photocopy. I called Tyler and they sent it overnight! Had it in my mailbox the next day! This is the first time I've bought a car out of state and sight unseen and I can't imagine a smoother or more satisfying experience. Honestly better than I even expected. Thanks again Tyler.

    by Triymaen from Lafayette,IN | January 19, 2020

I'm honestly not sure what the deal is with this place. It's almost like they don't even really want to sell cars. All I can say is seriously BEWARE.

No communiation whatsoever after initial contact!
by Name Name from Indiana | December 13, 2019

Well, everything started out just fine. Established contact with the salesperson (Tyler) yesterday afternoon. Submitted the VIN and pictures of my trade, while I asked for a video and some other info about the car I was interested in. Now, it's nearly 24 hours later and I have not received any acknowledgement of my connunication, nor any followup. This is no way to sell a car to someone who is a long distance away and replies heavily on communication during the sales process. If he is busy or off today, he should at least have said "got your pictures and request, will get back to you" but I got nothing.

    Next sucker
by Chris from Indiana | December 12, 2019

Scheduled to see a car advertised. Showed up and was told car was not ready and they meant to call and reschedule. Car was brought out anyway. Drove car around Carmel. Agreed upon price. Brought wife back out next day to test drive on highway and found car shook, bald tires,as some. Also antifreeze was misting under hood. Told salesman and he said his mechanics thought car was ok. Paid to have it inspected at my mechanic $200.00. Found out it has had gasket leak. Offered them a price to buy as is and take my chances. They raised price and agreed to fix it I paid full price. Declined and they re listed it next day without addressing problem for next potential buyer. BEWARE.

    Do do business here
by Cheryl C. from Carmel, IN | September 11, 2019

First of all, the Porshe I drove was filthy. I even called to set up a test drive and told them. It was filthy. She said she'd have it detailed. When I got there, the car was vacuumed. The rest of the car was still filthy. The windshield previously had a parking sticker under the rearview mirror with tons of residue left over. Another sticker had been removed that left so much glue, at first the salesperson and I both thought the windshield was cracked. I drove the car anyway. They started the car and brought it around front. I didn't see how they started it. While testing it, I turned it off and it wouldn't restart. I called them and told them the readout said "key battery needs replacing". The manager came to restart the car, but instead of a battery for the key, he brought a portable jump box and jumped the battery. Why? He again said it was the key battery....makes me wonder if it was something else. Believe it or not, I still was interested. I took it back and told them I was interested, but needed them to clean the car, so I could really see it. In the meantime I was going to look at another car. The next day, I got a text. NOT A CALL. A text telling me they would detail it for me to drive, but someone from out of state was putting a deposit on it. They said they'd give me first dibs. Really? At this point, I'm angry, feeling betrayed and a bit sad. I told them to sell it to the mysterious guy from out of state. The car was listed online for 54 days. Suddenly, I need them to clean it up and someone else wants it? I never did get the answer. Don't do business with them.

    Mark Martinez is a joke
by Jontae Smith from Indianapolis | July 01, 2019

I dealt with Mark. Right off the bat this dude stated he wasn't gay which was really weird. Then he started hitting on me and making me and my partner very uncomfortable. The car I wanted cost $10,000 and my loan was about $13,000. To make up that difference he lied to me and the finance company saying it had an upgraded GPS and audio system. He lied and kept the money. The finance company seemed to be on board with his scam until I made a complaint about the upgraded system. They then called him very angrily and told him to stop doing that. Just like that. I eventually stopped paying because I was being played. At one point the finance company was on my side trying to help me settle this but they eventually repoed my car. It left me on shambles. Not only is Mark a scam artist this dude started contacting my private number and making sexual advances. He sent me a nude picture of himself. I'm not gay and didn't ask to be harassed. This guy is sick. I would never defame another man or make false allegations. Everything I just said is documented and going to court. Im taking legal action about my car and the harassment. This guy sent me a nude!
