    Be careful
by Jdog from Grayslake | November 15, 2020

Be careful if you are considering a new Hyundai Sonora. With just under 1000 miles, I’m already having major issues with it. Not happy! The collision warning, abs, power steering, and auto hood lights were illuminated. Something is very wrong

    Sleazy Dealers
by Feel cheated but needed a car from Chicago, IL | October 26, 2020

Made appointment. Salesman was a no-show. 30mins later another guy said the car just sold today. Big fraud tactic. Showed us a more expensive car with added charges. You get a sleazy feeling from these guys. They promised but didn't give us copies of all signed papers. They didn't touch up paint in rusty spots.

    Cheating and Lies
by PM from Naperville | October 02, 2020

0 stars is what Gurnee Hyundai deserves Here are the multiple reasons -why? 1- Sold us a used Tesla promising that it had upgrades that are not there on the car! Over the phone, their employee Savannah confirmed verbally and in a text that the car had the full self driving package (an $8000 upgrade)- a feature that was of utmost importance to us. I said to her very clearly that we will only come to see the car, if it is a fully self-driving car.( we live 60 miles away) A little while later she texted me saying," Hi ….., great news the Tesla Model 3 has full self driving." We decided to go. Have texts as evidence. 2. Salesperson Billy- the tactics Billy was assigned to us after an hour's wait. He immediately asks - how much are we willing to pay monthly. How good is our credit? Will we be willing to buy it right away? All this before we even see the car. Really? We felt flustered. 3. Test drive- During the test drive Billy was friendly. He told us the story of the car and how it came to Hyundai. We asked again about full self driving. His response was,”Yes, it has everything. This is a great car. It has all the bells and whistles.. It was a special order car ordered for an event so it has more features than other cars. Honestly, I don't know how to use all of these things that are in the car. If you were purchasing it at Tesla you would get a six hour demo." We believed him and thought we could figure out these features later. All LIES. 4. Pricing- We said yes to buying the and Billy printed out a paper that had the base price higher than the one listed on their website. (Of course taxes and other fees are separate, we know). Random fine print was shown to justify the increase. We almost wanted to walk out right there but then the negotiations began. Then manager Mike stepped in. They would write numbers on paper, ask us to sign them and then walk away with those papers so that we could not even see them properly. Pricing was discussed in a highly confusing manner. Finally we settled on a price.(assuming we are getting the full self drive upgrade).Process took hours 5. Finance manager Josh Herlo -More tricks here He printed out the first document with additional warranties already added in. He tried twice to sell those but we declined. He even lied to give us a higher number verbally to make us think that our installments with and without warranties would not be that different. We discover the correct number only in the end. 6. Post delivery of car- They don’t care. Billy had said he would charge the car for us as we had a long drive home. It was not done. We had a tension filled first ride back home. My complaints to Billy and Mike have yielded no result. Manager Mike says all sales are final and GM Kikkolas has not responded to my email with the issues sent on 09/29/20. Give us the $8000 refund and improve how you do your sales. What an unpleasant experience we had on one of the most expensive purchases of our life!

    Gurnee Hyundai
by Packer Fan from Lindenhurst | September 25, 2020

First - the original person I contacted never got back to me. Second - went in on a Tuesday night, sat for 25 minutes, nobody ever helped us so my wife and I walked out. Third - when I finally went in, met a very nice young kid, just starting out in the business, but had to deal with his "boss"(?) when it came down to the "sell". I asked for two things: for my wife to test drive the car I was looking at and have my mechanic look at the car. "Boss" said my mechanic had to come to the dealer to look at the car (when I told this to my mechanic he laughed and said no other dealership makes you do this) and after I explained that my wife wife gets car sick in certain cars and that is why had I to have her test drive it, he "pushed" me twice to buy it on the spot. He said: "I'm a pesky salesman" and then something about "Have you ever disappointed your wife?" Fourth - even with an appointment for the specific car I was looking at, had to wait for them to bring it around to the front. I feel like telling the young kid to move to a different dealership and for anyone looking to buy a car from Gurnee Hyundai - BE VERY CAREFUL!!!

Genesis G90 Advertised Price Hiding Dealer Add-ons
    by GW_Dunkirk from Dunkirk, Maryland | September 13, 2020

I was interested in a G90, that has been in the dealership since February, when snow was on the ground!. I called their sales department in August, when I saw they had dropped the price almost $8,000 off the original MSRP. I quizzed their salesperson, may have been the sales manager, about what fees/additional charges were going to be added back into that sales price. The answer: nearly $2,500 in near worthless dealer "options". And then there was the ever present document prep fee, which to me is "ADM" = Additional Dealer Markup. Sorry, the sales price did not look so good after these add-backs.

Buy car that was listed priced $1991
by Crystal from Kenosha | August 18, 2020

Talked and scheduled appointment for a used car advertised online for $1991. Wanted to buy, brought cash. The price jumped to over $ 3100, as I was ready to pay and leave. There was no truth to the lady I scheduled with or the salesman.

Bob Rorhman Gurnee Hyundai Not Honoring Wsrranty
by Michelle from Gurnee | August 14, 2020

I posted a negative review of Bob Rorhman Gurnee Hyundai on 8/12/2020 to several sites. The general manager, Mr. Kokkalis (or someone from his staff) sent this automated message: "Michelle, I am concerned to learn about your disappointment regarding your recent service experience. Your feedback is important to us, and I would appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns further. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience to discuss your situation further. Best, John Kokkalis General Manager (847) 249-1300" However, when I called at 9:30am, staff was unaware of my calling and stated he doesn't come in until after 4pm. This was Thursday, August 13th, in a COVID environment, and he comes in after 4pm. Really??? Please stop automated replies to appear as if you are concerned. Return calls, or better yet, answer calls Mr. Kokkalis. This is not the way to operate a dealership. Customer complaints are real and should be addressed.

Pricing on cars.com is a complete lie
by Mparty from Madison, WI | August 05, 2020

All of their pricing on cars.com is false and they take zero responsibility for it, claiming that it is a third party website. I am guessing they post low prices to get you to call them, but now I would never buy from them as they have demonstrated dishonesty.

    This dealership is a JOKE
by Craigh from LITH | July 30, 2020

I made an online inquiry on a used vehicle and made an appointment for this Friday. I discovered a few days later that the price on the same vehicle increased $5,000. I didn't realize that cars appreciate in value right there on the lot! While I do understand that prices are subject to change, nobody from the dealership contacted me about this, knowing an appointment was scheduled. I could have possibly wasted my time this Friday had I not discovered the price change on my own. Where is the customer service when a serious buyer is at the table!?! I even offered to complete as much documentation as possible, online, when I made the inquiry. When I sent an E-mail regarding the price chance, the replies from their 'Director of ecommerce' were very short and rude. When I asked for her bosses contact info, the reply was basically 'I am the boss'...What a joke. This dealership just lost a potential customer as I am looking to purchase not one, but two vehicles in the near future.

    Bad experience
by Sue from Ingleside, Il | July 25, 2020

Car listed on this site for $8,922. We asked them for best price - tax title out the door. They came back with 12,975. Huh? That’s $3,000 more than paying the full asking price with tax and title. That is dishonest
