    It can be nerve racking when purchasing a new car and living 300 miles away but with Towson BMW it was the perfect experience .     Questionable Sales Practices

    I am a first time BMW owner. The initial purchase experience on Saturday (12.08.18) was great until I realized during my drive home that it was the wrong vehicle. The features I wanted and shared to the client advisor (blind spot monitoring and lane departure warning) were not in the vehicle. I specifically asked the product genius (Ian Baker) how to turn it on during our final walkthrough and he said all I need to know that if the button underneath the hazard button always remained green it's always on. I trusted him and left the dealership extremely excited. When I realized what was missing, I notified my client advisor (Christian McClure) in less than 24 hours. Since it was Sunday, I knew that he would not get back to me until Monday. Fast forward, no reply on Monday. I sent him a text on Tuesday and his quick reply didn't even answer my original issue. After that, there hasn't been any communication from him. Prior to the car purchase, he would reply to my messages (email or text) within 5 minutes. I shared my issue with the sales manager (Wesley Bishop), he then called a few days later saying he would look into things but was on vacation the next day. I followed up with an email capturing the conversation and the general manager (Carl "Bo" Brand) called the following day (Thursday). He shared that he will look into other vehicles. I received a note yesterday (12.14.18) stating that he found a vehicle. I was extremely excited to see that part but then there was a note saying if the new vehicle is over 300 miles then they would treat the vehicle as a used car trade-in. I was surprised by that statement because in all my documented correspondence, that fact was never mentioned. If I had known, I would have gone back immediately. I'm sharing this now because I feel that the practice was shifty when they didn't even go over the details of the vehicle. In hindsight, the finance manager (Tanya Adcock) was moving extremely quickly through the paperwork and perhaps she too was trying to pull one over a customer. I know the vehicle doesn't even make a mark in overall sales but to me this is an important purchasing experience that was tarnished by questionable team practices.

    Tyler Lanham of Towson BMW certainly helped to make my new vehicle buying experience easy. The vehicle buying experience can be a bit frustrating initially: researching and comparing makes models with options for my needs/wants. A very important part of the car buying experience is the sales person. I have many years of experience purchasing new vehicles and working with sales people. After deciding which vehicle make could meet my needs, I contacted Tyler to schedule test drives. Tyler had the vehicles prepped and ready before I arrived. I also requested to test drive a vehicle from another location; Tyler arranged to have the vehicle transported within 24 hours. During the entire test driving and purchasing experience, Tyler was patient, knowledgeable, and performed exceptionally with assisting me while I chose the right vehicle for my needs/wants.

    Great Dealership, Great Atmosphere!!!

    Going to BMW of Towson is definitely something to write about. The showroom floor is huge and full of cars. The staff is very polite and friendly. I do not think anyone walked by without giving some kind of welcoming gesture. Our sales person, Byron Stack, was great! Very knowledgeable on the car we wanted. He made the whole process seem simple. A great sales person to have when purchasing our first BMW!

    The Sale: Before and After

    I made a recent purchase of a used BMW 750 LI. I worked very closely with the sales person Tyler who was on top of everything through the sale; excellent sales guy. Everyone at BMW TOWSON I came in contact with was very kind and helpful. However, the dark side comes with customer service after the sale. It was as if it were different company! I couldn’t get a hold of anybody! Since September 14 to the present five phone calls were never returned. I attempted escalate my issue to management but placed in voice mail .. w no return call. So if you looking to make a car purchase and what excellent sales certainly try TOWSON BMW.… Just don’t look for good customer service after the sale, they’ll forget that you ever existed.

    Easy smooth and honest

    I found a car online through the used car list on bmwusa.com. I reached out and got a call from Tyler Lanham. After speaking on the phone about the car, and trying to get this car site unseen, I was a little hesitant. Tyler answered all my questions, and was beyond responsive, but not pushy. The worst is when car sales folks continuous call and push you. Once I knew that I wanted this car, I ran the numbers that made me happy. We were a few thousand off on price, but he worked his magic with his manager and we were able to come to term on a price that I was comfortable with. It was going to be a hour and a half drive to Towson, and he sent me all the forms to fill out prior to getting there to make this as smooth and fast as possible. To their credit, they gave me a price on my trade in site unseen, and did not try to undercut me and gave me what I wanted. I was out of there within an hour or so, after the finance portion, and the BMW expert walking me through the car. Tyler had a nice welcome/departure package with key chains, hats, mugs, and mailed me out a tray that he could not find on the car. If you are in the market for a BMW, reach out to Tyler. Car buying is such a PITA, and this was the smoothest transaction I have ever had. Thank you, Tyler! -One happy M owner

    Tyler is Fantastic

    Let me begin by saying Tyler Lanham is fantastic. I had previously purchased 3 BMW cars from out of state, and I can definitively state that our entire purchase process with Tyler was absolutely the best of all the experiences. We had been searching the entire US for several months for our special vehicle, and thankfully, Tyler had it on his lot. During our negotiations, Tyler was kind and not pushy. He has a great disposition. We secured the car with a deposit and flew to Maryland to make the purchase and drive it home (1400 miles). Tyler had a “BMW Genius” waiting for us at the airport to drive us to the dealership. We learned so much about our car and how to use the newest features just on the drive. When we arrived the car was clean, WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS, in the bay waiting for us. It was exactly as Tyler represented. After our test drive, we completed paperwork, which he had filled out and ready for us, so that we could sign everything needed without having to wait. While we were completing the paperwork, it started to rain. Unbeknownst to us, the staff pulled the car back into a bay and dried it off so that we didn’t have to walk in the rain with our luggage. Tyler has followed up with us to make sure the car is everything we wanted. I cannot recommend him or BMW of Towson enough.
