    Dont even call
by MMP from Victorville | April 20, 2020

So I was looking one car that had my eyes on and had a great warranty deal on. So I called the dealership and they were closed during the coronavirus which makes sense but they called me back after 2 weeks and I asked about the price and details on the warranty. He started talking abt the price and I was like ok let's talk abt price first. So I asked him at what price would u u be willing to let it go for the price of the vehicle was $29k. And then he asked me what is my price so I said my budget saying I am looking @28k and we can wiggle around. Then without saying it is not the price, he can come up with or he can see what he can do the best nothing he said: "it is insulting and then he hung up the call". I got blanked for 2 mins just soaking at what has happened. I mean I might be a paying customer but no.

    Worst Sales/Customer Service on Earth
by Tehachapi Deborah from Tehachapi, CA | January 23, 2020

I told the salesman that I had decided to get a new 2020 model. He insisted on showing me the leftover 2019s and got an attitude when I said I wanted a 2020. I asked him how to get a price on the 2020 with the accessories that I wanted. (17 accessories) He finally gave me an email address to send my list to. I sent the list and never heard back from anyone. I should have known better. When I tried to buy my previous new Honda from Barber, 4 years ago , the salesman quoted a price above MSRP over the phone. I have spent over 75k buying new Hondas over the last 4 years and not at Barber Honda my local dealership. I will never call them again. I will just drive over 100 miles away to a Honda dealership that wants my business.

    Returning Customer–NOT!
by D. Cuellar from Bakersfield, CA | April 11, 2018

January 2018. I had approximately one month left on my current lease (Honda Civic). I had been driving by the lot constantly just waiting for a Sport Touring Hatch to arrive in. I visited the lot one evening to see the Civic Hatchback that had arrived. I was greeted by a salesman #1, and I told him I had a month left on my lease and I wanted to look at the hatch back. I would have thought any salesman hearing that I was at the end of the Civic would have been eager to help me right away because he/she knows I am in need of a new vehicle. This guy was not eager and just let me look around. I then still looked around on the lot and the Civic Hatch they had, was parked under the awning by the glass doors you enter the dealership (service center side). It took about 10 minutes for someone to ask if I had been helped. Once salesman #2 came out, we talked about the car and I felt I expressed interest in the car, because I asked to talk numbers. After repeating myself I was surprised that I was not getting anywhere with this guy, so I left. What really upset me was this guy said they can't keep the hatches on the lot, which is a total lie, because I had been driving by for the past six months and no hatches were on the lot or on the online inventory. He also threw credit at me and made me feel that I didn't have credit because of my age. I understand I am young and I was in basic clothes, but I knew I already had an established account with Honda and I had leased my current Civic from Barber Honda; I had hoped to be a returning customer. Salesman #1 didn't even try to stop me when I was walking off. I ended up going over to Acura and I was blown away by not only the deal, by the amazing customer service. Other things worth noting, is I grew up a 'Honda Child' from 'Honda Parents' we have gone to Barber since I can remember and we are no longer taking our Accord there. Repairs that were recommended were overturned by a well-recommended Honda Authorized mechanic we now go to. Also, I have been disappointed by the the internet sales department. I had signed up for the emails I was noticing email blast emails that were incomplete and not worthy of being sent out to the masses. Also, when I was inquiring about the Civic hatch (online) and I had mentioned that I currently had a 15 Civic and I was receiving back pricing on 15 Civics... this doesn't make sense to me and it was wasting my time. The sad thing is when telling people about this recent experience, I had two other people I know that had this same poor experience. Several salesmen lost a sale and Honda lost me as a customer. Get it together Barber Honda.

I was looking for a good used car.
by Heather strohbin from Porterville | February 20, 2017

Very quick to respond. They don't message you over and over. They only offer info about what you ask for. I will definitely be by sometime in the next week to enquirer about the car we discussed.

    Great Car Buying Experience
by JerrySJ from San Jose CA | March 23, 2016

I live in San Jose but driving 500 miles round trip to get our new 2016 Honda Pilot was worth it because of Barber Honda's competitive pricing and excellent customer service. I worked with Matt Lopez, Barber Honda's Internet/Fleet Department Manager and he was able to beat the pricing of every Northern California Honda dealer by thousands of dollars. He was also very easy to deal with. He was very upfront and transparent with taxes, fees, and pricing and provided a hassle free experience. When I arrived at the dealership to buy the car it only took 1 hour from when I entered to when I left to complete all the paperwork and drive out of the dealership with my new Pilot! Thank you Matt and Barber Honda!

    Miguel C.
by Miguel C. from Bakersfield, CA | October 17, 2014

I bought a new car at another dealership in Fresno, CA in August of 2014 but I currently work in Bakersfield, CA. While I was driving to Bakersfield by tire blew out. I went to Barbour Honda in Bakerfield CA to see if my tire was under warranty. I asked since my car was only about 2 months old if the tire was under warranty. The lady who was helping me (Erma) told me that the tires had no warranties. I had no choice but to buy a new tire costing me $200. I later contacted an authorized Michelin tire dealership and I was told that I got a "fast one" pulled on me and if I had gone to them first that I would have most likely had the tire replaced free of charge. If you have a new car and a tire goes out, do not go to Barbour Honda. First go to an authorized dealer of make for your tires. I wish I was given this option but now I am unfortunately out $200.
