    I would like to give this dealership higher marks if I could but my experience there doesn’t justify a good review . I got what I consider a very fair deal both in terms of valuation of my trade-in and on the price of the car I bought. The great treatment I got on the sale was cancelled out by a number of things, starting with the two hour wait for my new car to be detailed. I had called and made an appointment with the dealership to see it three days earlier so I don’t think it was too much to ask for it to have been detailed before I got there. Second, and the thing that really pissed me off, was that the dealership employees who detailed my car, in taking off the dealer’s advertising plate, sheared the heads off of both rear license plate bolts and left twisted stubs that I now have to pay another dealer to drill out so I can mount my license plates. The third problem was that my title was not sent to me until the day after my “In Transit” tag expired, and only then because I called to inquire about it. The title clerk told me they had to make sure my check had cleared the bank. I knew two weeks earlier that it had so I don’t understand why they can’t keep track of things like that. I really like my new car and the sales experience at Ames Ford was actually quite pleasant, but unfortunately that cannot make up for the indifferent treatment I received after I wrote the check and signed over the title to my trade-in, especially since I was charged a fee to be treated that way.

    Horrible Customer Service in Service!!

    Stopped in to have them look at a tire due to lots of vibration. The truck is still under warranty along with the tires..Less than 400 miles. Made an appointment for today. Brought truck in at 8am. They don't have me down for an appointment. Had to take all my information again but said it would be brought in and looked at first thing this morning. Come back around 2pm to check on progress and the truck hasn't been moved. Go talk to service advisor that took the truck. Doesn't even seem to remember me. After digging through some papers and me explaining vehicle information, he says he gave it to another service advisor. Go talk to the second service advisor, which happens to be the one that made my appointment in the first place, only for him to tell me that they haven't gotten it in (which I kind of figured since it was parked exactly where I left it this morning). I said that I needed the vehicle tomorrow because it's a work truck. They said that they don't know if it will even get in today. By now I feel that I have given them enough time to look at a tire that might have a broken belt. I asked for my keys and left. I will not be back and will not ever bring my work vehicle here. I feel that this place is very disorganized.

    At shop two months for simple plugs, coil and rotor $1000 . WOW. Bad communication. Vehicle left unlocked after hours. Parked outback out back in dark blocked in at pick up time. Shop and billing fraud, why would you charge 8 spark plugs for a 6 cylinder vehicle. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! Likely will be lunching an investigation for bad business practices.

    There are five reasons for five-stars on this one: 1) Travis is a super helpful, sincere salesman. Not at all what I’ve come to expect from car salesmen over the years - he answers questions and offers options without seeming pushy. 2) The service has been great. I’m in and out in a flash, and the quality is always top notch and consistent. 3) EVERYONE I’ve come across has always been kind and helpful, and generally seem happy to be there. 4) I will go out of my way, and bypass multiple Des Moines area options, to buy from Ames Ford Lincoln. 5) The cars! I love my Ford Escape. I feel that I got an awesome deal, for a really reliable car with all of the options I was looking for. I’ll buy Fords for life!

    Had a FANTASTIC experience at Ames Ford Lincoln with Travis! I was referred by my friend to check them out and was not disappointed. I had a few vehicles in mind before I arrived and Travis went over the details of each one. Not once did I feel pressured to buy, plus he was super helpful and knowledgeable on all of them (not to mention he's got a great sense of humor!)! After careful consideration and a test drive, I decided on a 2013 Edge. The rest of process was easy after that and he was there to walk me through all the steps. Definitely recommend checking out AFL if you're ever in the market! They really are the best! Thanks again, Travis!
