    Went in for an appointment we had made for a SUV on hold for us. Checked in at front desk and they said so and so will be right here. We waited, then told the front desk gentleman that we would go out to the SUV. We were by it for 20 minutes. The guy even text my husband and said are you on the lot? Yes, we texted back, we are out here. We left. Told the front desk we had waited long enough. Had planned on buying that day but why buy where you do not get service?? 20 minutes of waiting and they were not even busy! As we were driving off the lot the guy texts us, where are you I've had the car pulled up front for you. Bull crap, we just left and no one was by the car to pull it up!! Nice try, we are NOT coming back...

    This review is for the Murrieta location, I have never been to the Costa Mesa location so I'm not sure why this is tagged for CM? Anyway, I found my salesperson (Maureen) to be uninformed, quick to cut off, willing to share her personal background. I know she is recently divorce, has a daughter in college, just moved to the Temecula area from Florida, pays $2,000 a month for rent, comes from a poor family in the LA area but nothing about the car I was there to see. The only info I received is "we don't negotiate". I'm not sure if this is typical of a Carmax salesperson, I would hope not. Her sales style won't sell cars, whatever you're selling you should have some basic product information if you want to be successful.

    We transferred a car from another location to this one which worked out fine. We looked at it, test drove it but could not purchase it at that moment because we needed to go to the bank to work it all out. We agreed on a day to hold it until and we came in on that day and looked it over again. One of the salesmen who had been working with us saw us and stopped for a minute, he was busy so he moved on. We left to go across the street to get a quick coke because I was getting a headache. When we came back the car was marked for transfer to another location. Nobody told us there was another interested party or advised that someone was tracking it! This is something our salesman knew during this whole time and that we found out as we had our check in hand watching the car drive away. Good customer service would say that telling the customer that someone else wants it would maybe be a good idea; it may even push the customer more to make the purchase which is good for the dealership. The store manager said the salesman told him we didn't want it. Those words NEVER escaped our lips. We were there with the check from the bank. We were ready to purchase. We feel like the car was taken out from under us and there was nothing we could do about it. The car was on hold until that day, the day wasn't over yet. This car is a hard one to find and we've been looking for a long time. We were, and still are devastated.

    CarMax is Super!

    I just recently purchased a Mercedes M-Class from CarMax at Costa Mesa. I was ready with all the salesman pitches, haggling and general unplesantness that is associated with buying a car (paperwork, insurance, time, etc). But moment I walked in Kyle and Ron made me feel welcome and we were outta there with our new car in no time. We had little clerical error but they made sure that we had the that day to drive home with the best price possible (they gave the best trade-in value as well). Thanks CarMax.

    Just bought my car from Carmax in Costa Mesa. Michael helped me. The whole experience was easy and painless. It really is the way car buying should be! When it's time for me to buy a car again I'm definitely going back to Carmax!

    Purchased a Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG

    I purchased a used Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG from the Carmax in Costa Mesa, CA about a month ago. I started out by calling the Carmax and reaching a sales agent. She worked with me by setting aside the car so that I could fly down to pick it up. She picked me up from the airport about 15 miles away from their dealership. When I saw the car, I found some minor cosmetic issues with the car and Carmax assured me that they would repair them at my local Carmax in Roseville, CA. I will be writing a review about that Carmax as well. They issued me a form stating repairs to be done at my local dealership. I informed the salesperson that I would be pushing the car a bit and she was fine with it. After the test drive, the car seemed to be in great condition, so we headed in for the paperwork. The appearance inside of the dealership building did not convey a welcoming feeling though. It felt like a warehouse with desks in it. The people within the building were nice and friendly though. The paperwork was pretty quick as I already had a loan check from the credit union. It took about 30 minutes and then I was on my way. Overall, I would say the experience was positive.
